*************

Paige's pov.

"I can't believe today is your last day in California."

"I know I can't believe it either, I don't want to go to Michigan." I sigh twisting a strand of my brown hair.

We spent the whole hour, talking to each other. My last day here, and I get to spend it in school.

"Why not?" She asks.

"Because i'll be leaving. I'll be leaving you and the girls. Irhab, everything that I have is here." While saying this, I felt a sick twist in my gut.

"Hey, were all happy for you girl. Come on, your mom got a new job, that pays good money. You'll be going to a good high school. Plus think about the huge house you'll be living in. There's nothing to worry about." Irhab says, trying to cheer me up.

"But Irhab, what if they don't like me or accept me for who I am? I don't want to stand out, I want to fit in. You know what I mean?"

"Hey, they're crazy if they don't like you. Like come on! Your beautiful, funny, sweet, trustworthy, athletic, and have an amazing voice."

"Thanks Irhab, but--"

"No! There will be no buts or if's. Paige just trust me they will like---actually, erase that. They will love you! So stop worrying."

"Okay I guess, your right." I sigh once again giving in to defeat.

Were in our last period now. I take a glance at the clock and see that there is only 20 minutes until the bell rings, and it's time to go home. Irhab and I continue talking until, "DRRRRRINNNNGG".

"I wish you can come with me to Michigan so I can at least have someone to talk to." I grab all my stuff and wait for her.

"I do too Paige. That'd be so fun." Irhab says.

"Ask your mom today if you can come. She might let you considering that you'll be with living with me and my mom. Plus my mom won't mind having you come with us," I suggest.

"You know what I should! My mom was talking about me staying at my grandparents house for a year while she's at Orlando working. I'll just ask her if I can go with you guys!"

"Oh my god you should I'll tell my mom to talk to your mom, that way you might be able to come?" I jump up and down in excitement.

"Woah! What's up with all the jumping, did we miss something." Amber walks along with us, clearly confused.

"Ya why you so happy," Samantha pops out of nowhere and looks just as confused as Amber. "We're supposed to be sad that your leaving but whatever it is tell me."

"Oh my god, wait don't tell me your staying." Says amber.

"Sadly, I'm not" I reply.

Irhab speaks this time, filling in the girls on what they missed out. "I might go with Paige to Michigan! How fun does that sound?"

"Wow really!" Says amber.

"Yup. Amazing right?" Irhab says.

"Ya were so happy for you, both of you guys," Samantha says.

"Thanks, lets just hope my mom agrees to let me go."

"Why wouldn't she? Your mom and my mom have been friends for years. They trust each other and treat one another like sisters." I say.

"Ya, that's true. Wow I might really have a chance of coming."

We continue to talk waiting outside the school for our ride. My mom pulls up in her Cadillac. "There's my mum." I take a moment to hug the girls and tell them to take care.

My mom being the inpatient woman she is, starts honking on the horn. I roll my eyes at her and continue saying my goodbyes. When were all done, I get into the car. I turn to look back at my friends that I won't see for a while or even forever. Two minutes pass by and my mom starts a conversation.

"Hey sweetie, how was school today?"

"Fine I guess," I reply.

"What's wrong?" My mom asks.

I turn to look at my mom and get angry. "Are you serious mom! I'm leaving the place I grew up in and leaving the friends I grew up with! Your asking me what's wrong? Like come on, you don't even care do you?" I reply harshly.

"First off, lower your tone young lady!"

"You know you can really piss me off sometimes." I mumble.

"Paige I'm serious, I didn't raise you to be like this. I know your upset but we need this."

"What ever."

The rest of the ride was quiet. After 10 minutes of awkward silence, we finally arrived home. I literally slammed the car door and just walked all the way to my room. I plop onto the bed, deciding that I should call Irhab. After two rings, she picks up.

"Hey Paige waz up?"

"Nothing just wanted to see if you asked your mom yet?"

"No not yet, I will when we eat dinner though."

"What mom? Okay i'm coming!" I hear Irhab yell. "Hey gotta go, mom's calling me. I'll call you when I have news ok."

"Ok bye," I say.
