A.N. I've noticed the last chapter are kinda short. Because of that, from now on they will be longer.
Luna
The leaves rushed past her as she ran through the forest. Her back right leg throbbed with pain. She wanted to stop, but she couldn't. If she did, it would catch up. Luna glanced back.
There it was, the thing. It looked just like the alpha, but it was shrouded a black mist. She looked forward again just in time to see the root she was about to trip on.
She hit the root and went down. She tried to get up but felt something pinning her down. She could hear it snarling. She could also feel it getting ready to attack.
Right before its jaws snapped around her neck there was a blinding flash of light. She could hear something running in her direction. It was Jasper. He knocked it off of her and she jumped up and hid behind Jasper. The thing snarled at Jasper and disappeared.
Jasper turned to Luna and said something muffled. He said it again a bit more clear this time she still couldn't tell what he was saying. He said it again, this time she could hear him. "Wake up," he said.
She blinked a few times as the real world slowly came back to her. Jasper was standing in front of her with a worried expression on his face. She realized she was in the same spot she was in when the dream ended.
"Are you ok Luna? You don't normally act like this," Jasper asked worried, the same expression lingering on his face.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a dream," she shook her head as if to shake away the dream.
"A nightmare?"
"Yeah."
"What was it about?"
Knowing he would eventually find out, she just told him.
"Interesting, I've been having a similar nightmare for the past few days."
"It's like my dreams are warning me of something. Remember when the Tundra wolves invaded. I had seen that moment in my dream a few times before it actually happened. This just feels...the same."
"Well, Alpha has been acting strange recently. Anyways, we should get back to the pack. Race you there."
......
When they got back, they went to Jasper's den to talk more about the dreams they had been having.
"Oh Luna, what a surprise. I see Jasper has found someone to talk to," Venus eagerly said from the entrance to the den as they came up to it.
"Where's Terra and Grace?" Jasper asked stepping in.
"Out playing with the other pups their age."
"Ok," Jasper said laying against the back wall.
"So, why did you choose to talk to Luna? No offence," Venus asked.
"None taken," Luna said settling down about a foot away from Jasper.
"She's had a similar nightmare. So she can relate to me."
"Oh ok then, don't let me bother you. I'll be over at Rosie's house," Venus said as she got up and started walking off.
Luna could tell something was bothering Jasper. She was about to say something but decided not to when she saw the look on his face. Finally, he turned back to her.
"So what happened in your dream again?" Jasper questioned.
Luna re-accounted her dream to him. This time with a little more detail.
"What do you mean by 'blinding flash of light'."
"To be honest I have no clue. I was pinned down and then there was a flash of light, and you came. Could've been lightning." Luna suggested.
"But you said that the sky was clear," Jasper said confused.
"Could it have been Makar?"
"As far as I know there is no way it could have been Makar. I mean, you can create light with it but not 'blinding light'. Not even a master could do that. All I can do is make very dim light, a light that could barely light up this den." Jasper said laughing a little.
"Well, what else could it have been. Wait a second do you hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"The voice." As soon as she said it, the voice was gone.
"What voice what did it say?" Jasper asked, an expression of panic on his face.
"I've never heard the voice before. But it was saying something like 'I wish I could tell them'," Luna answered. She was so confused, her head was spinning. Suddenly, something clicked in her head. She stood up and ran outside.
"Luna, wait," Jasper called after her.
"Come on," she called back. She ran towards the woods as fast as her legs would carry her. What if the mysterious voice and the light were connected. She had to get to a secluded place to do what she was about to do.
Soon enough she was happy with the distance away from the pack she was. Jasper caught up not long after.
"What was that all about?" Jasper asked.
"So I was thinking, what if the voice I heard was connected with the light. So I'm going to ask it."
"And mom thought I was crazy," Jasper said under his breath.
"Here goes. IS THERE ANYBODY THERE?" she questioned.
"Yes," the same voice as before replied.
"WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WISH YOU COULD TELL US."
No reply. She tried again. Still no reply. Suddenly she felt sharp pain shoot through her body and collapsed.
.....
When she woke up, she found herself in Jasper's den. Jasper seemed to notice she was up and turned to her.
"What happened to you out there?" he asked. There was something in his eyes. It was a strange fierceness she had never seen before.
"Out where?" Luna answered. As soon as she said it the fierce look was gone. His eyes looked glassy for a second, making them look dead. Then, as fast as it had come, it was gone.
"Never mind," he said. "I'm going to see how my mom is." And with that he left.
Questions were circling around in her head. What was he talking about? Out where? Why did it feel like she was missing something?
She moved her head to look around. Just as she did intense pain throbbed in her head. She tried again, but the pain was to much and Luna passed out.
