About 12 years later...

Echo's POV

I can't wait for my first day in seventh grade! I was homeschooled grades first through sixth by my Grandma, along with my cousin Virey. I wore my favorite blue and silver flower, my red and silver skirt, black capri leggings, and my purple, blue, and orange sweater. My mom told me she wore the same outfit as she does now every single day when she was a kid, even when she was a teenager and adult. My dad, Aunt Frisk, Aunt Shadow, Uncle Asriel, Uncle Radius, and Uncle Chisk all agree, so I know it's true. If you couldn't tell, my mom was apart of a big family, and my Grandma Toriel raised them all, because she split up with Grampa Asgore. I go to his house sometimes. If you haven't already guessed who my parents are, their names are Chara and HiddenTale!Sans (Hidden for short).
"Echo! It's time to go!" My mom shouts up the stairs. I set down my pencil and stop drawing. My mom is teaching me how to draw, but I'm not very good at it. I don't understand shading, though. Why do it? The paper is flat, why can't your drawings be flat?
Either way, my mom put every single one of my drawings on the fridge. I still haven't found where she keeps her old drawings, but I'm gonna.
I skip down the stairs in my green star sock. Yes, I only have one sock, the other would just sag and look weird, because my other entire leg and foot is made of bone. It's because my dad is a skeleton, and my mom thinks it's cool, so I'm going with it.
She ruffles my hair, and I fix it, so I can see out of my right eye socket. Yes, I have an eye socket. Only one, though. On my right side. My entire right arm is also just bones.
"You ready to go, sweet pea?" She asks, and I smile and nod.
I put on my grey ankle boots, and we walk outside, my backpack resting on my shoulders. My mom and dad never learned to drive, so our garage is where my mom paints and makes pictures, so it's kind of her art studio. It's also where guests stay.
We walk to the school nearby. Well, I should say it isn't very close, but mom and dad have magic, and they can do something really cool. They can teleport. My dad can move stuff around with magic, and make bones appear out of thin air, although he doesn't do it as much as mom uses her magic. Something about his magic not being very strong anymore? Anyway, I don't know what else my mom can do besides teleport and move stuff around with magic. Dad mumbled something about knives once when I asked him, but I just got confused.
We don't know if I have magic yet, but they're not going to do the same thing some guy named Gaster did to the original Sans. They're not gonna put me through tests or anything. They're cool like that.
My mom teleports us mostly there, and we just walk the rest of the way.
It's a human school. My parents said they don't know if I'm a human or a monster, but since I look mostly human, they just said they'll put me in a school for humans, and hope for the best. I was home-schooled every year before.
My mom kneels down and looks my in the eyes.
"Have a good day at school, okay, Echo? And don't listen to people if they say you look weird, mkay?"
I nod, and she hugs me, kissing me on the forehead, and teleports away.
I notice some kids looking at me, and looking where my mom was.
"What are you looking at?" I ask.
I see fear flash in their eyes, and they run away.
They ran away from me... I think to myself. I look down sadly, and walk inside, keeping my right hand in my pocket, and I put my hair over my right eye.
A few older kids who weren't outside look at me and smile, until they see my shin, and their smiles drop. I sigh, and find my first classroom.

After School

I'm waiting for my parents while sitting on a playground swing. Some older kids come up to me. It looks like they're in ninth grade. Oh no...
"Hey look! It's monster girl!" One of them shouts, pointing at me, and the others laugh.
Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry. I stand up, "Leave me alone!"
"Hey!" The older kids turn around, "Leave my daughter alone, or you're gonna have a bad time."
    Thank goodness, it's my mom.
The main guy laughs, "That thing is your daughter!? You should have gotten rid of her!"
My mom grabs his shirt collar and brings him close to her face, "Say that one more time, and you won't see tomorrow." A slight red aura had started to appear around her as she got angrier.
"Guys, skeleton!" One of the smarter guys says, and I look behind my mom. My dad is standing there, his eyes black, and his arms are crossed, a few bones are floating behind him.
The bigger kids run away. My mom drops the guy she was holding up, and I'm pretty sure he peed his pants.
I run to them and hug them, "Thank you." I finally let the tears out.
My mom sits on the ground in front of me, and my dad sits next to her, "Are you okay, sweet pea? What did they say to you?"
I sniff, "They called me monster girl."
"Well... think about it in the terms that were there when I grew up. Monsters were a race. Your dad is a Monster, your grandma, grampa, and Uncle Asriel are all talking goats. They're Monsters too! Heck, with my magic, I'm part Monster like you, although I don't look nearly as cool. What I'm getting at is, being a monster girl is something to be proud of! And I have something that will stun them if they ever try bullying you again. Just say 'Thank you, I'm happy to be a monster girl', and just walk away." She says, smiling.
"Y-yeah, and don't forget, we l-love you and we're always here f-for you." My dad says.
Mom says that dad doesn't stutter as much as he used to, ever since they got married.
I cry into my mom's green and yellow sweater and say, "Thank you..."
My mom grabs my dad's hand, holding me, and we teleport home.
Oh, I forgot to mention that my Aunt Frisk and Uncle Virus live with us too! My cousin and I share a room.
My mom sets me down and goes straight into the kitchen and comes back out with 5 bowls of vanilla ice cream, and all of the ice cream toppings you could think of.
"Frisk! Virus! Get your kid It's time for sympathy ice cream!" My mom calls to the basement. That's where Aunt Frisk and Uncle Virus live. There's a living room with a glass sliding door that goes outside, a bathroom, their big bedroom, and a kitchen. They basically have a house under ours.
Virey and our friends, Goth and AJ, go to a monster school, unlike me, because they were confirmed monsters. I wasn't as lucky. Goth and AJ are skeletons. Goth's soulless, and her parents are Horror and Reaper. Mom says that she's saved Horror's life once, but she didn't really want to. She didn't tell me why she didn't want to, though. Anyway, AJ's parents are Fresh and PJ. They're pretty cool, although they're older than my mom. They're both skeletons, and so are Reaper and Horror. Come to think of it, I'm the only monster-human hybrid in our 'family'. We call ourselves a family because we've gotten so close. At least my parents are close to them. My mom has told my stories of her adventures when she wasn't exactly 'with' my dad, but was at the same time. It's complicated.
She said she has saved Lust, Horror, (She saved Horror from Reaper eating his soul, ironically. And the entire time, Lust was controlling Reaper.) So she says by saving Horror from Reaper, she was saving Reaper from Lust. And before that, she saved Lust from Aunt Shadow. And she says that she healed Aunt Shadow because she got badly injured.
Aunt Frisk and Uncle Virus come up the stairs, and Virey comes from our room.
"Did you say Ice Cream!?" Aunt Frisk says, laughing. I swear, my mom and Aunt Frisk act like kids.
Dad says that they've been like that since he met them.
"DO YOU HAVE SPRI-" Aunt Frisk shouts, but gets cut off by mom.
"IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION, WOMAN!?" My mom pulls out too many sprinkle containers to count. And a random can of frosting.
Aunt Frisk laughs, "Still don't want to eat human Ice Cream because it isn't NiceCream?"
Mom puts the container against Aunt Frisk's cheek, and she jumps.
    "OH GOODNESS THAT'S FREEZING!"
"Straight from Grillby's freezer!" Mom laughs. Grillby is a close friend, so that means that I get to eat free, because I'm a kid. So does my cousin.
Uncle Virus laughs and sits down, "So it's basically NiceCream then!"
    "But it's frosting!!!" Mom says.
"Chara, y-you can only eat half of that, or y-you're going to get really really h-hyper, and I don't want to deal with a hyper-" Dad says, and my mom cuts him off by kissing him.
My cousin and I wrinkle our noses, "Ewwww!" We say at the same time.
Aunt Frisk squeals, "I STILL SHIP IT!!!"
Mom and dad pull away from each other, and my mom grins, "Well I ship Visk still, so bleh!" My mom sticks her tongue out at Aunt Frisk.
Virey sits next to me and grabs a bowl of Ice Cream.
I grab a bowl as well, and dump caramel and sprinkles on it.
Aunt Frisk turns red and just dumps sprinkles and only sprinkles on her ice cream. Uncle Virus and Dad just put chocolate and caramel on their Ice cream.
Mom looks at the chocolate syrup and reaches for it. My dad glares at her, and she pulls her hand back.
My mom is addicted to chocolate, so we always have it, and if someone eats the last of it, and it wasn't her, she goes crazy.

A Week later

My mom walks me to school again, doing the same thing she does everyday, telling me to be a proud monster girl, glaring at the bullies and giving them a creepy smile, then teleporting away.
But once she's gone, is when things go downhill.
One of the guys knocks my sketchbook out of my hands, and starts flipping through it.
He laughs, "What even is this crap!? There's a fish with legs, a person who wears too much pink, and a whole bunch of other stupid stuff! What are you even drawing, monster girl?"
"Those are my drawings, and I don't appreciate you looking at them, so give me my sketchbook back!" They don't usually take my sketchbook, so I was getting mad.
One of them in the back looks nervous. Oh. it's the kid who pointed out my dad.
"Uhh guys? I really don't think we should-" He starts, but gets cut off by the leader.
"What!? Are you chickening out, dude!?" He yells.
    "No! But look at her!"
My vision had gained an orange tint.
"Oh god her eye and eye socket are black!" One says.
"She has an orange aura like that lady!" Another says.
I here a 'bwom' and two skeletal dragon things with orange eyes appear behind me.
"Give. Me. My. Sketchbook. NOW!!" I hear the sound of the skeletal dragons getting ready to shoot, but it's only a warning noise.
The guy throws my sketchbook at me, then he and his goons run away. I caught the sketchbook, so I just close it and put it in my bag.
I turn around towards the skeletal dragons.
"Thanks, guys!" I smile, and they nudge my hand. I pet them, and they make happy noises.
"Kid! Get away from those Gaster Blasters! They're dangerous!" One of the teachers yelled at me.
"Gaster Blasters, huh? You guys are cool!" I say, petting them.
I hear one of them mutter, "They only let skeletons touch them... how-" They stopped talking. They must have noticed my shin and hand.
"Oh no... this is a bigger problem than we thought. Um, Miss? Please come to the office. We need to call your parents."
I look at the Gaster Blasters and they nod, disappearing.
I walk to the teacher, "Okay..."
"But first, we need to get you to the nurse." He says.
    "Why?" I ask.
"You aren't human! But you also aren't a monster! She just needs to give you a check up."
    "No." I say.
    "What?" he's confused now.
My mom told me what people mean when they say 'check up'.
"I said no. I'm not going to let you test on me like I'm some lab rat!" I say, "Just take me to the office and call my parents. I want to go home."
He sighs and guides me to the office, "Sit down. You're going to have to wait for the principal to finish talking to the boys you scared today. Secretary? Call her parents."
"What is your name, sweetheart?" She ask, ready to type it in.
"My mom would have put it under her last name, so Echo Dreemurr." I say, and she types it in.
"There are two phone numbers. Should I call them both?" She asks the man.
He nods. She calls both of the numbers.
Once she calls them and hangs up, I look out the window and see my parents appear.
My mom looks slightly angry... I hope she isn't mad at me... They walk inside, and I hear the door of the office open.
"Why were we called? Is Echo okay?" My mom asks, with no anger in her tone.
"She summoned Gaster Blasters on school grounds, and threatened some students. Why was she brought to a human school if she's obviously a monster?" He spits out the word as if it's poison.
"I see there are still hateful and racist humans out there. We weren't sure what school to put her in because she was only part skeleton. We didn't know if she had magic or not. This is the only encounter with magic that we've heard of." I can sense my mom's anger growing as she walked towards the man.
"I-If we knew people like y-you were running the school, we wouldn't have s-sent her here. Before you expel her, we're u-unenrolling her in this school and sending her w-where she belongs." My dad says, uncrossing his arms and standing next to my mom.
The man laughs, "Fine! Send her to that d*mned monster school. She won't fit in there, either."
"I highly doubt that. At least it'll be a million times better than going here." I say, standing up.
My mom looks at me and smiles, "Let's go." She grabs my hand and we teleport home.
I could have sworn I saw red knives starting to appear around her...
