Budo x Kizana

Kizana sat down on a stool and sighed. The Drama Club was supposed to be practicing for their school play. They were doing "Sleeping Beauty", and Sora had auditioned to be the prince, but he and literally the rest of the Drama Club were all home sick with the flu. Kizana facepalmed. "How am I supposed to put on a play with no actors?!" She threw up her head. "It's hopeless! The school play will be a failure!" she wept softly, then thought of an idea. "Hey, maybe I can recruit other, non-Drama-Club students to be characters in the play!"

"We could help if you want," a voice said. Kizana looked up. Budo Masuta, leader of the Martial Arts Club, walked in the door along with Mina, Shima, Ayano, Taro, Kuu Dere and Mei. "We heard that everyone in the Drama Club was sick, so we decided to come over and volunteer as understudies," Budo said. Kizana blushed awkwardly. She had been crushing on him for a long time, but was afraid to confess. Then it hit her: "Would you mind playing the role of the Prince, Budo?" she said with a smile. Budo smiled back. "Not at all!"

Kizana assigned everyone's roles. Ayano and Taro were Aurora's parents. Mina, Shima and Mei were the three fairies. Kuu was Maleficent. And Kizana was Princess Aurora. "Does anyone have an idea of something we could use as Maleficent's crow?" she asked her actors. Ayano raised her hand like she was in class. "I have a black kitten," she said. "If you hold a treat, he comes to you and eats it out of your hand, and he can sit on someone's shoulder." Kizana nodded. "We can use him. Thank you, Ayano." Ayano hugged Taro's arm, and he smiled at her.

And so the day of the play came. Everyone had their costumes on. "This dress is really loose," Ayano complained, tugging at the dress she was wearing. "I feel like it could fall off at any second and I'll be standing there in my underwear." "Hush now, darling, that won't happen. And you won't have to wear it for long anyways," Kizana said. Taro hugged his girlfriend close. "If anyone makes fun of you, I'll punch them," he said with a humorous grin. Ayano smiled back up at him. "Thanks, Senpai," she said. Kuu was playing with Ninja, Ayano's kitten. "He's really cute," she said quietly. "I know," Ayano chuckled. "He's just a fluffy, mewling little ball of sweetness." After a bit of chitchat and a revision on their lines, the play started. Ninja, Ayano's kitten, behaved very well and followed orders. He didn't even fall off of Kuu's shoulder like Shima bet Mina ten dollars that he would. Then came the scene where the Prince had to kiss Aurora to wake her up. Budo walked onstage and looked at Kizana — laying on a nurse bed dressed up to look like a princess' bed, wearing a blue nightgown accented with glitter, ribbons and sequins, and a shimmering tiara made of plastic, fake gems and shiny golden foil. He knelt down to kiss her on the lips, when Kizana opened one eye. "Budo, now is as good a time as any to tell you this," she whispered. "I have a crush on you."

Budo smiled. "Oh Kizana, my queen, I love you too." And with that, he kissed her on the lips, and the show went on. During the final scene — where Aurora and her prince waltzed in the ballroom — Kizana and Budo smiled at each other. Maybe last-minute understudies aren't such a bad idea, Kizana thought to herself, as the spotlight went off and the red curtain was drawn, hiding the actors behind, and the audience gave a standing ovation.
