((Dave x Karkat))

It was a cold and harsh windy day. Karkat Vantas walking down the streets with a large puffy red coat, and a dark red scarf to match. He was shivering from the harsh winter winds in January. His best friend Gamzee was supposed to meet him at the park for a guys' day, but he ran off doing gog knows what. Karkat was stood up, and quite frankly, he's not very happy right now. He was on his was to a near by cafe, having nothing else better to do.

Karkat walked for about another ten minutes, until he reached the warm and welcoming cafe. He opened the door, and the smell of coffee was strong. Karkat went in line and ordered himself a cup of hot chocolate.

As he waited for the hot chocolate to be ready, something, or someone, had caught his eye. A fine young man, was sitting in the corner. He was quietly sipping on some coffee. He had sunglasses on, which Karkat thought was weird. Who wears sunglasses in the winter? However, something attracted Karkat to him. Through the shade, he could make out a little of red. He assumed the stranger had red eyes. Also, he had platinum blonde hair that was styled to perfection. He was thin and had a stoic face. Almost emotionless. Karkat was entranced by the stranger that he had not heard the barista telling him, that his order was ready.
Karkat, embarrassed, took his cup of hot chocolate, and quickly tried to find a empty seat. He was about to head toward a seat, when bam. The stranger ran right into him. The hot chocolate spilled all over the both of them.

"OH SHIT! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING! YOU DAMN...." Karkat looks up and sees that it was the mysterious guy. The same one that attracted him. The stranger immediately replied.

"Okay geez I'm sorry. Calm yourself." The stranger still had the same face as before. It's like this didn't phase him at all. "Look I'm sorry I ran into you. I'll buy you a new cup." Karkat was amazed on how cool the guy is taking this. If that was him, he would have beat the shit out of the dude.

"NO IT'S OKAY. I DON'T WANT TO DRINK HOT CHOCOLATE ANYMORE. SORRY ABOUT YOUR HOODIE AND YELLING AT YOU. MY NAME IS KARKAT." Karkat held out a hand. The stranger shook it, and placed his hands back into the pockets of his now wet hoodie.

"Hey karkat. The name's Dave. Sup?" It's like nothing phases this guy. He's wet, and he doesn't care.

"WELL IM WET NOW... I THINK I'LL GO HOME AND CHANGE. DO YOU WANNA COME ALONG? IT'S NOT THAT FAR. I WANNA MAKE UP FOR YELLING AT YOU, AND THE HOT CHOCOLATE." Karkat just mentally slapped himself. What was he doing? This wasn't like him at all! Normally he wouldn't give a shit and storm out. What is wrong with him?

"Nah, it's cool. This hoodie was old anyway." For some reason, that made Karkat seem chest fallen. His disappointment showed, and it was obvious to the cool kid. "Actually, yeah I would like that." Karkat nods and seems a bit better. "FOLLOW ME"

The two walk to Karkat's house in about fifteen minutes. The two learn more about each other, and they quickly became friends.

"So this Gamzee guy ditched you?" Karkat nods. "YEAH. IT'S OKAY THOUGH." Dave shakes his head. "Nah. That wasn't cool. No friends should ditch. I sure wouldn't." The two continued having the conversation until Karkat opens the door.

"WELCOME HOME. MAKE YOURSELF COMFORTABLE." Karkat runs up the stairs to grab some clothes for him and Dave. Dave is down stairs waiting on the couch. Karkat rushes down stairs and hands the clothes to Dave.

"HERE. WEAR THESE. I'LL CLEAN YOUR HOODIE." Dave switches clothes and hands them to Karkat. "Thank you." Karkat nods and does the same. "I'LL BE RIGHT BACK." He starts the laundry, and comes back. He plops down next to dave, who still had a stoic face, and said nothing.

"SOOOOO...." Karkat didn't know what to say. Dave just said, "so what?" Karkat tried to think of something to say. "WHY ARE YOU WEARING SUNGLASSES IN WINTER?" Dave shrugs. "Because they make me look cool and ironic. Plus, it was a gift from a close friend." Karkat suddenly felt a pang of jealously. Wait. What? He couldn't be attracted to a person he just met right? He can't love him! .....right? Shrugging the thoughts off, Karkat just replied, "OH I SEE." Dave just shifted slightly and asked, "Why do you ask?" As he looked down, Karkat blushed a light rose color. "WELL I MEAN... I WAS JUST CURIOUS. IT'S NOT EVERYDAY THAT YOU SEE SOMEONE WEARING SUNGLASSES IN WINTER." The blonde just nodded and agreed. "Yeah that's true." Karkat bit his bottom lip thinking he made a fool of himself. He mentally beat himself up inside, and though of an idea. "HEY WHY DONT WE WATCH A MOVIE WHILE WE WAIT FOR YOUR HOODIE?" Dave just responded by a simple nod. "As long as it's not Con Air." Karkat just gave a confused look, and put in a rom com. They were going to watch Lovely Complex.

*TIME SKIP*

As the two teens wait for the laundry to finish, the watched the sappy movie. Karkat by then, was sobbing his eyes out. Dave, not knowing he loves rom coms, surely did not expect this surprise. All he could do is comfort the other boy awkwardly. Karkat was clinging to Dave's arm and probably used the whole tissue box. He was screaming at the tv, saying things such as "JUST KISS HER ALREADY!" and "CONFESS! CONFESS DAMMIT!" Dave was feeling a little awkward, but looking at the guy clinging to his arm, he kind of found him cute. The Vantas was smaller than him and attractive. He stopped watching the movie, and just focused on karkat. The tears in his eyes just made him want to kiss them away.... Hold on a second. He shook his head lightly. He just met this guy and he's already falling in love? This is Dave Strider! The cool and stoic kid! He just pushed aside the thoughts, and tried to watch the movie. After ten minutes of trying, the thought came to haunt him. Surely enough, he had feelings for the Vantas. The way he was clinging wasn't helping either. He just wanted to hug him and place him in his lap.

Karkat was practically shedding tears everywhere. He was hugging the life of the Strider's arm, but the blonde didn't seem to mind. He could have sworn that Dave was looking at him, but he pushed the thought away. The more he thought about it, the redder his face got. He could feel his heart racing, and in the end, he just stopped focusing on the movie. This was really weird for the boy, considering he really liked romcoms. What exactly was happening to him? What is Dave doing to him? He thought about his slim, tall figure, and his perfectly sculpted face. His dashing eyes he could barely make out, the thin soft looking lips, and the platinum blind hair that is styled to perfection. This drove him insane. His face was redder than a fire truck. Karkat gave a quick glance up, only to find the blonde staring at him. He could only look down and his heart felt like it was going to pop. Karkat vantastic in love.

Dave was staring at Karkat when he suddenly looked up. He flushed a light pink, embarrassed he was caught. The Strider did see that Karkat was blushing madly and he could feel his heartbeat pounding on his arm. What was going on? Is he that obsessed with the movie? Does... He possibly have feelings for him? The thought of it made his heart race. He kept thinking the thought over until a timer went off. It seems the laundry was done. This made him slightly upset, but decided to tell Karkat. He appears to not know that the hoodie is clean by now.

Dave shook Karkat gently. "Dude the laundry is done." The Vantas, who was deep in thought, was shocked and jumped a little. "O-OH OKAY. I'LL BE RIGHT BACK." He ran off, only to come back with the old hoodie. Dave stands up, taking the piece of clothing, putting it on. He walks over to the door where Karkat followed. The smaller of the two, opened the door. "Thanks. I guess I'll leave now." Dave is disappointed and karkat felt his heart crush. The blonde started walking down the driveway, when Karkat runs up to grab his sleeve. "UM... DAVE? CAN WE HANG OUT AGAIN? AS FRIENDS?" Dave frowned, turning to face him. "No way." Karkat's face dropped, and he let go of the sleeve. "OH I'M SORRY..." Dave smiled and hugged the short boy. "I thought about it, and no. I don't wanna be friends. I like you." Karkat looked up shocked with a blush. "R-REALLY? I LIKE YOU TOO...." Strider only swooped down and planted a soft kiss on Karkat's lips. The smaller reached up to wrap his arms around Dave's neck, and kissed back. The Two separated after a sweet moment, and smiled. "See you later. Next time it'll be a date." Karkat blushed and nodded. Dave fished though his pants and handed him is number. "Call me." He winks and gives a big smile. The Vantas smiled back. "OKAY. BYE DAVE. I LOVE YOU." He watched as Dave walked away, then looked down at the scrap of paper smiling. Karkat walked inside, closing the door, and wondered what was in store in the future.
