The year? There is none. Elca banned that years ago. Ever since the rebellion failed and the government collapsed, they've been in charge. Elca started as a small startup but then grew to be the sole all powerful monopoly. They own and control everything. Even the schools.
'But how is that important?' You may be asking. Let me tell you, it is very. Once a year a group of 2-6 students are 'awarded' the 'honor' of attending the 'prestigious' boarding high school, Elcademy, the Elca monopoly's school.
The students who are awarded the scholarship to attend Elcademy are only required to attend it for one year, but they can chose to attend for the rest of the 4 years. And despite promises to return after a year, nobody has returned. The graduates from Elcademy are weird, almost zombie like. They mindlessly wander to and from work, never saying or acknowledging anything.
Each year of honorees dreads going to the place where none return. And none will. That is, until a certain girl named Ezra.
