On my ship,
Emma had asked me to bring over some grilled chesses and root beer from Granny's over to the sheriff station. But before I expose myself to the public, I needed to pick up a couple of things from the crocodile's pawnshop. Snow suggested that I get Emma a gift for right before the ceremony. I asked David if this was a good idea, and he didn't want me to win her heart over with gifts. But then he realized that she had already said yes to the proposal, twice actually. David was the one who suggested I get the gift from the pawnshop.
Apparently, I was supposed to ask the Crocodile for advice on what to get Emma. That' wasn't going to happen. The last time the dark one got in the middle of my love life, she died and I lost a hand. So I went to the one person who knows the shop as well as him, and also knows the troubles of unexpected love lives. Belle.
In the pawnshop,
Belle was watching baby Neal when I got there. I told her what both Snow and David had told me, and she agreed. Belle went to the back room and searched for the gift. Immediately, Neal started, perfection. The last time I encountered a little person, it was Alexandra, the day that Emma wanted to move in with me.
I picked Neal up and immediately, Neal stopped crying and reached for my hook. I don't get the connection, but it worked. Neal was exactly like the one he was named after. Quiet when he wanted to be, and fascinated by anything that Emma was also fascinated in. Not to flatter myself but, you know.
Neal fell asleep right as he was holding my hook, I didn't want to wake him up, but my Hook was stuck between the lad's hands. The boy has great grip within those tiny hands.
After I could wiggle my hook out of his hands, Belle came in a few minutes later, very impressed. Then she started bursting out questions about Emma and I. Are we thinking about growing our family, are we expecting to expect, whatever that bloody means. I said no, Henry is a handful all on his own.
Belle handed me a small white box with a ring inside. The stone was diamond with a design of a hook and swan shaped into a heart. It was perfect, except for the price. Here's a hint; $$$! Luckily, Belle said it would be her wedding present to Hook to Emma.
I thanked Belle, and walked out towards Granny's.
