AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Hi! Staci here, once again, with a brand new series! =D Some of you might have been waiting for a verrry long time this series. I even uploaded a preview! The reason for the long delay was that I wasn't sure how to write the series. It was a combination of two old fanfic series, S Club 8:The ShowStoppers and To Live and Die. But it didn't work out...until this past January.
I was reading my old series, S Club 8:The ShowStoppers. I was having this urge to completely rewrite the entire series. Here's the thing: I created the plot for this S Club 8 fanfic series in 2006, inspired by celebrity gossip, Mexican telenovelas, and the classic girl-group Danity Kane song, Show Stopper. I started writing this series that same year. I actually uploaded the first book a few months later on a Wattpad-like fanfic archive of a S Club 8 fansite. This was in 2007, and I also uploaded the books on a fan forum once the fanfic archive shut down. In 2008, I uploaded all 8 books on another forum. This was from 2006-2010, and the plot went through several changes.
Now it's on Wattpad, which has been since early 2011. But recently I decided to finish writing this series. I already have the ending, now I just have to wrap this really old series. I decided to rework the remaining plot so it'll resemble my more recent work, ie The One Series, with influences from Pretty Little Liars.
When I began plotting this series, I was 17 and in high school. I was going through a "girly-snobby-chavvy" phase. Also, this was my first attempt at writing teen soap operas. (I have actually written a couple of S Club 8 fanfics before this series, but they weren't uploaded on the internet, they're comedies, and they're unfinished.) Things have changed since I was 17, and now I feel like my work has matured. Even I grew out that phase.
So instead of completely deleting the entire SC8:TSS series just to rewrite it, I decided to write a series that's loosely based on SC8:TSS AND the real history of early-2000s British mixed-gender teen pop group S Club 8. The characters are fictional and original. The time setting and the location have been moved. The music has been updated. Even the ages have been changed.
Now we have The HeadLines. The concept is still the same, but think The One series meets Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl. The story is about two teen pop groups in one franchise: The main group are scandalous due to being caught having bad behavior; their spin-off, feeling threaten by their main group, become scandalous by displaying bad behavior deliberately. It's racy, sexy, trashy, scandalous, and super cray-cray!
So enjoy The HeadLines! 2 bands, 1 franchise. What could possibly go wrong? Maybe everything?! You've been warned! ;)
