When you hear “America’s biggest teen pop group,” what pops into your head? Fifth Harmony? Midnight Red? Maybe it’s the Jonas Brothers or Big Time Rush. Or maybe it’s 7STARz. If you don’t know who 7STARz are, you’re probably five years old. And if you are, get off Tumblr. Seriously, where are your parents?
In case you forgot about their past, here’s the super short version: 7STARz was formed in 2006 after the enormous success of two franchises, High School Musical and Hannah Montana. They were a teenage 7-piece pop group who were made for their hit TV series, popSTARz. Oh, we forgot, the STARz franchise was created by the Disney Channel. No surprise there.
Anyway, they got the label as America’s RBD and S Club 7. They had a tween-friendly image with fans to match. But not long after they started their first tour, they tarnished their sweet, innocent image. Not surprising since they were barely 18 when all this happened. But they had hit albums in spite of all this.
Now this is where we come in. A lot happened since late 2008. We released hit albums, and the sales are a lot bigger than 7STARz. We took over popSTARz, and it emerged as the top teen TV series. Yeah, we practically took over 7STARz’ career. We even went as far forming another spin-off group and a sister group from our TV series. We were that successful.
But you might ask, “How did you get everything 7STARz owned?” It wasn’t easy. In fact...you know what? We’re not going to spoil anything for you. We’ll start from the very beginning. We were just 15, wanting to be like 7STARz and go international. Well, we got what we wanted and then some. But it came with a price, a price we now have to pay. Do we have regrets? We’ll let you see for yourself.
Who are we? We’re scandalous. Notorious. Rebellious. Shocking. Sexy. Hot. Young. Badass. Who’s behind the headlines on the media? It’s 8STARz, America’s baddest teenagers that rocked the charts worldwide.
