I look at my surroundings and watch the clouds go by like time. I watch the sky turn oranges to blend into the rustic red desert around me. I silently sob as I remember of all of the people I loved and the memories that come with them. I miss Rebeca, more than anyone else though. If I would have listened to her I wouldn't even be in the empty waste land, I would be in the big city at the local club with Zach. We would be sneaking out back and would be make love in this leather seats of his Mustang. I miss those nights. His blue eyes would sparkle like salty ocean water and really pop out because of his dark brown hair. He would always make me laugh, even on my worst days. He used to hold be in his strong arms and hold me like a child when I was feeling down. His laugh was always contagious and would lighten up the mood no matter how awkward the situation might have been. I miss him more than you can imagine. I physically feel like someone ripped out my heart and handed it back broken saying, "Here, fix it". The worst part is, is that I will never see him again. He's gone. Dead. All because of me. Same with Mom, Dad, and Rebecca. My whole family. Just because I told the one person I trusted the most. And now look at me, I'm siting in a desert, about to die of thirst. Nobody dies like this anymore. Especially at age 17. Back in society, everyone died at age 75 to prevent sickness and since they can't work anymore because of retirement. But then again my family died at an early age too, also in society. I guess the society is just one big lie. All of a suddenly I face plant onto the hard and rugged ground and cut the inside of my palm deep. I start to cough and spit up blood. I wipe of the blood with the back of my palm that isn't injured. "Shit," I whisper to my self. I better find help soon or I'm going to die.
