What color is the sky at night? Is it black with diamond specks, or is it purple and surreal? I found myself outside on a peaceful night. I saw the dirt look a pearly brown, coated with the soft light of the moon. The earth made a gentle crunch with each step that I took, I watched the trees wave their branches in the sky. "Just a little further," I said to myself. I sat at the top of the hill and looked at the large expanse of the sky, it seemed dark dark blue almost black with little stars everywhere. The earth felt small from up here, and I felt the wind on my skin, it felt fresh.
I saw a small figure in the distance running towards me, I felt my heart beat from fear. I knew it was a mistake to go out side. But how else could I see the stars if I stayed indoors? I got up and tried to see who it was. They seemed familiar but I couldn't be sure. I began to ran away from it, but the figure was running fast. I ran a fast as I could, hearing the clay under my feet crunch and crushing the little tiny plants trying to grown in the harsh earth. I felt the wind comb through my hair as I ran as fast as I could, trying to feel free but feeling trapped instead. The world seemed to get smaller and smaller as my gasps became shorter and shorter. Each stomp of my foot seemed to get heavier slightly as I greedily breathed in all the fresh air.
"Hey!" It was a cool voice I heard.
I focused on running, feeling the world slightly tilt, moving the star filled sky this way and that way. "This is it," I thought, secretly enjoying the thrill that pumped adrenaline through my veins. "Your running the wrong way!" I heard.
The person was getting closer. I kept running, and running. It was midnight, so anyone I saw was bound to be evil. Eventually they got tired and turned around. I then was able to go back home. This happened every night, where I played chase with the mysterious stranger. I just hope not to be caught one day.
The person began to retreat and I looked around where I was, there was a bunch of caution signs that said "wrong way" and "turn back." They were old and probably outdated, once the person started to turn back I started to leave this area. I went on back to the safety of my home, not seeing the night sky any more till the next night.
