Laura POV
i was driving along, quickly. Too quickly, but not so quickly that i wasn't being safe. I'm normally a really careful driver, but today i was in a rush. My boyfriend had just got home from the hospital. He'd broken his leg playing tennis a few weeks ago, and i hadn't seen him the whole time he'd been in hospital. I thought it was strange that they didn't even let me go and see him when it first happened, but when i rang him he said it was the hospitals general rules. I agreed, and even though i had doubts about this, i let them slide. I love him, why would he lie? Well he wouldn't, and i was going to see him now anyway. Ben had always been the love of my life, and he always will be. I love him more than i have ever loved anyone in my entire life. i drove down church street until i was nearing the street that led down in the apartment block he lived in. I heard a loud beep come from the side of me. I span my head to see what what happening when the impact from another car flew me across in my seat. My air bag deployed and i chocked on the chalky gases that were now filling my car. I look across to see a small silver car, driving at high speed away from the incident, and a larger black car over turned, laying on its side. I pushed open my car door quickly, and undo my seat belt. I start to walk over to the car, my legs quickening in pace as i see the hair of a women. She was still, laying across the passenger seat, her face covered in blood. I lunge forward and grab the handle of the right door. Pulling it open quickly, i lean over to shake the young women. She's beautiful, blonde hair, and long fluttery eye lashes. I clear these thoughts from my mind, as i shake her gently. She doesn't stir, so i gently move my body to be next to her. I lift my arm gently, so i don't knock her. I don't know how bad she's injured, and all i do know is that it's my main priority to get her out. I pull her upper body with my arm, so she is laying nearer the door. With one more pull, both of us are out of the car. I stand up slowly, placing her body carefully on the tarmac next to my feet. I grab my phone and dial 911. The ambulance arrives quickly and ask me to come with them, to make sure i wasn't to badly injured my self. I told them that i was fine, but they insisted on me traveling with them in the ambulance. I look down at the bed next to me. The girl looks even more beautiful now, her blonde hair splayed on the pillow behind her. Her chest rises and falls slowly as she breaths in steady motion. But she looks lonely, so lonely. I extend my arm, feeling a sharp pain start to rise in the base of my shoulder. I wince but continue forward, laying my fingers to sit between hers. Her hand fits in mine perfectly, and i don't let go until the ambulance doors open and a tired looking paramedic pulls the stretcher carrying the girl. I follow quickly behind, and i'm instructed to wait in the waiting room a few corridors down. I agree, but i feel some sort of guilt for leaving her alone. For fucks sake Laura grow a pair, you don't even know the women. I stroll down the hall, and see a young man talking frantically to the women on reception.
"Yes, her names Taylor. Taylor Schilling. A car accident i think. No, she's my sister"
I walk towards the desk, almost certain that i can help the man.
"Hi, im Laura. I was at the crash on Church Street. I got you're sister out the car."
"You did? Oh my god thankyou. Do you have any idea where she is? I need to see her"
"She's down the 2nd corridor on the right."
"Thankyou. Laura, was it? Give me your address so Taylor can come and thankyou when she's feeling better."
"Oh honestly, it was no trouble. And she doesn't need to do that"
"She'll want to. I know Taylor. She'll want to."
"Okay then"
I take the paper from his hand and grab the pen from the reception desk. I write down my address and give it to him.
"I can't thankyou enough. You saved my sisters life"
I blush, not knowing what to say.
"I'll send her round as soon as she's well, and thankyou again"
"No problem" I call as he races down the corridor and turns quickly on his heels to try and find the location of his sister i described a few minuets ago. I turn towards the doors and head home. When I reach my apartment, I call ben, wanting him to hold me, protect me. It goes straight to voice mail and after a few tries I give up and head to bed. I lie awake, think of that girl. I remember her name vividly, because it sounded so beautiful. Taylor. Taylor Schilling.
