I ended up spending the night with Ivy after the fiasco that occurred the night before. Luckily, she had some clothes that I could wear to school the next day. When we both woke up it was considerably early and so we got dressed and began to walk to school already. Ivy put on a Skillet t-shirt with jean shorts and black converse shoes, complementing her fair skin and light hair color. Meanwhile I grabbed a bright sky blue graphic t-shirt with ripped jeans and then a pair of sandals. The two of us quickly left the house for school and chatted along the way. For once I actually enjoyed going to school, even if it is torture, but I knew I was excited only because I was with Ivy. The way the sun reflected off of her light toned skin, her long and wavy blond hair that captivated everyone, but most importantly her bright and bubbly attitude that you only see when you get close to her. If there was a word to describe her it would have to be angelic. It just seems to scream out "Ivy" in big bold letters. Ivy snapped her fingers in front of me a few times and gave me a concerning gaze.
"Are you ok?" She asked me, "you just kind of zoned out there for a bit... is it about last night...?" She asked me, reaching a hand to grasp my shoulder. I unintentionally pushed her hand away and looked away from Ivy.
"I'm sorry! I mean... no I'm fine, there's nothing wrong with me..." I replied, speeding past her to school, "Just a little confused is all..." Ivy caught up to me and forcefully turned me to face her.
"What's wrong with you? Am I a bother to you or what?" She asked.
"No, you aren't a bother to me it's just... it's complicated..." I replied. Ivy grabbed a hold of me and looked right into my eyes.
"Tell me what's wrong Tori, tell me now or else." I frowned but then quickly replaced it with a smile.
"Really, I'm fine. Nothings wrong I'm just a little frazzled by last night still that's all," Ivy let go of me and so we continued on our way, "thank you Ivy, it means a lot to me..." I hurried on into school first and grabbed all my books that I would need for the first four periods. Ivy went to her own locker which was further away from mine."What is wrong with me? I need to calm down and figure out what's wrong with me..." After messing around in my locker a bit I noticed a small envelope laying on top of my english book. It looked like someone unlocked my locker in order to put it in there, but there was no way that someone could open my locker without the combination code. Without looking at it's contents, I stuck the letter into my book and went over to Ivy. "Ready to go?" I asked. She nodded and smiled brightly, walking beside me the whole way to class. We walked into English expecting no one to be there yet, but as fate does despise us, multiple were already there. Ivy looked at me and grinned before dragging me to a seat next to her.
"What's that in your book?" She asked, noticing the envelope peek out from the inside of my book.
"Oh, someone stuck it in my locker. I don't know who though, but I don't know what's inside of it..." I replied, pulling out the brightly colored envelope. It simply had my name written on the front in neat, cursive handwriting. Ivy took it and opened it up without hesitation. Within a few seconds, Ivy gasped and nearly shrieked. "What's wrong?" She beamed happily at me and cleared her throat.
"Dear Tori, It has been forever since we've last seen each other and now that I have finally met you again it would seem that our meeting was fate. Since our first meeting I've never forgotten about you nor your radiant smile that seems to light the way through the dark, particularly the darkness in my life, but I cannot hold out any longer so I will be bold and to the point with you. I am in love with you, or rather I have had a gigantic crush on you for as long as I can remember. If you are able to meet with me after school by the bleachers in the gym, that would be amazing. Sincerely, your (hopefully) future lover." She recited the whole letter aloud. I nearly died of embarrassment both at how believable she was and just at the contents of the letter. Many people were staring at me now, but it is understandable considering that someone wrote a letter to say that they are in love with you.
"Well uh... that's..." I was frankly speechless. Not knowing what to do, say, or think. It's high school, no one would fall in love with you on the second day you were there. The person said that they've known me for a while though... My thoughts began to run wild. Who was it that put the letter in my locker? Why me?
"Awe someone has a secret admirer!" Ivy exclaimed, latching onto my arm with a devious grin. I blushed at the thought that someone actually has a crush on me. I mean, come on, it's me. Act cool Tori, don't make a scene...
"Who wouldn't have a crush on me?" I joked, elbowing Ivy lightly in the arm. She rolled her eyes at me with a giggle and turned back to focus on the notes that we are going to take today. Seriously though I wonder who it is... Class flew by fast and soon we headed to the rest of our periods which were all worst than the last. School came to an end and soon I found myself darting for the gym without even grabbing anything. I just want to know who it is... but I hope it's who I think it is...
