My phone is buzzing madly in my pocket and it's pissing me off. I have five minutes left in this Calculus exam, can't they wait?
The tangent of five, buzz, is equivalent to, buzz. Oh, god dammit. This is the last question and I can't even concentrate. Finally, I scribble an equation down to just finish this exam. I could break this phone right now.
I slap the exam on my teachers desk just as the bell rings. I sigh as a smile of relief stretches across my face. I'm finally done with high school.
Just when I thought the incessant buzzing was done my pocket is vibrating again. I pull the god forsaken thing out of my pocket, groaning at the name on the screen.
"Lena," I breathe into the phone. "You've been calling me for the past ten minutes. You better be half dead or I'm going to be pissed." I open my locker only to find it cleaned out. Weird. Shrugging, I close it and head to the front doors of the school.
"Well, I'm not dying," she huffs. I could almost hear her eyes roll.
"Then why couldn't this wait until we got home?" I dodge a few freshmen hurrying in between classes.
Lena groans through the phone. "Fine." The phone disconnects.
I shove my phone into my pocket just in time to see a few of my baseball teammates barreling towards me. A grin breaks out across my face as I meet them halfway, slapping their hands, bringing them in for bro hugs. The hallway parts around us as we hoot and holler at each other like cavemen.
"Ky, you still going to the softball game tonight?" Alex asks me.
I nod at him. "Yeah, I wouldn't miss this game. Do you know how long it's been since I've seen Lena play?"
Alex groans. "But there's this party tonight, man," Alex tells me excitedly. "Everyone is going to be there. Even Katherine Holt."
My eyes widen as my mouth begins to practically foam. Katherine Holt is one of - no, the hottest girl in this school. I'm talking banging body, long black hair, the bluest eyes. And, oh, I can only imagine what she will be wearing tonight. Short skirt that barely covers that ass, that bright red, super low cut top that-
"Ky!" Alex snaps me back from my fantasy.
I frown at him, then sigh. "We'll see. If I'm going to this party it will be after Lena's game. And Lena will be coming with me," I tell them.
"Lena will be coming?" Someone asks. I turn to look at who said it and, oh. Of course.
I glare at the culprit. "Yes, Lucas," I bite out, "Lena will be there."
The kid looks like he's won a million bucks. It's disgusting. Lucas is a good guy, don't get me wrong. Oh, and I don't hate him. I just hate that he is in love with my twin sister.
My glare deepens. "Wipe that stupid smile off your face, Lucas," I say. "You will not touch my sister."
His face falls and I smile at that. I've scared him. For some reason, that brings me joy.

"What was so urgent that you needed me in the parking lot immediately?"
Lena looks at me wide eyed, terrified. Her knuckles are turning white, hands red from wringing them. She starts pacing back and forth in front of Jack's car.
"My teacher wasn't in class today," she starts, talking way too fast.
"Which teacher?" I ask while my eyes try to keep track of her movements.
