Run away

I was sitting on my bed waiting for mom and dad to come in and start beating me up. After a couple of minutes mom and dad came in and started slapping and kicking and punching me. I can't use words to describe how much pain I was in. After mom and dad left my room I quickly pulled my run away bag out from under my bed. It had some food and water in it along with a jacket and a picture of Devan and Collins. I put some hiking boots on that I stored in my closet. I had written a note earlier to Collins and Devan that I slipped under Collins' door before sneaking downstairs and out the front door. The warm air hit my face and I started walking. I didn't know where I was going but anywhere was better than home.

I eventually came to some woods that I'd didn't know were in our neighborhood. I started running and didn't stop till I was sure I was in the dead center. This is where I'll stay.

Collins' POV

I woke up the next morning to a note that had been slipped under my door. I picked it up and walked to Devan's room. "Hey bro. What's up?" Devan asked. " I found this in my room." I held up the note and sat next to Devan on his bed. "Hey that looks like Hannah's hand writing!" "I know...." my voice trailed off and I slowly started to open the note. It said:

Dear Collins and Devan,

It's me Hannah as you've probably guessed by my hand writing already. I've run away. Please please don't come looking for me. I have a good reason why. You know all those bruises I have and all those stories I told you guys about how I got them? Well those were all lies. All those bruises came from mom and dad. At night when you guys were asleep mom and dad would come into my room and abuse me. They said I was worthless and would never amount to what you guys did. Whenever you guys weren't home, mom would make me clean the whole house and cook for them. I always put on a fake smile for you guys and never told you about what mom and dad did to me because I didn't want to burden you with my sadness. I had also become suicidal because of how I was being treated. Just know that you guys were what kept me alive. Dad said if I told anyone about what they were doing to me there would be MAJOR physical consequences.
I love you guys to death and if I end up dying, don't forget that the angels will keep fighting.

Love, Your little Hannah

I looked at Devan who was silently crying. I dropped the note and ran to Hannah's room. No Hannah. There was a tape on her desk addressed to Devan and I. I put it in her tape player and called Devan over. He came in with puffy red eyes, from crying. I pressed play and Hannah's voice came out of the speakers. She was singing "Inner Demons" by Julia Brennan. I sank to my knees and put my head in my hands. "Why didn't we look out for her?" I questioned. I was now crying as well. "There was nothing we could do. Mom and dad abused her at a time they knew we wouldn't find out." Devan came and sat by me. We cried together for what seemed like forever. "We have to look for her." My head shot up to look at Devan. "But she told us not to." "We have to Devan! If we don't she could die!" I yelled standing up.

Time skeeeeeeep

Devan and I pulled into the police station the next day and ran inside. "Hello! How may I help you?" The woman at the front desk said. "We need to issue an Amber Alert mam." Devan said. "Oh my what's happened." The woman had a worried expression on her face. "Our sister has run away. She's been gone for more that 24 hours." I said.

After a lot of waiting Devan and I got an Amber Alert on our phones. It was for Hannah. "There you go boys. The Amber Alert has been issued all over the state. I hope your sister is found." "Thank you so much!" Devan and I kinda yelled.

Now all we can do is wait. Wait for Hannah to return. Wait for her to be found. Wait for her to come home.
