Another ordinary day, my brother walking me to school to keep me safe from all that's going on. Everyone knows my brother has always sided with the Westside, instead of the Eastside when something goes down. "Nel." Chres says. "Yes Chres?" I reply with a smile on my face, thinking of someone.
"Don't go out tonight, okay?"
"Why?"
"Some shit is going down tonight and I don't want you out while it's going on."

We walk down the street, Chres' hand lays on top of his gun as it usually does. Life is dangerous around here when it comes to the two gangs. Chres walks toward a group of boys, I just keep walking.

" 'Cause I don't want her getting caught up with you and your shit."

She stops walking and turns around slowly. I run over to her, trying not to get caught by Roc. "Wassup sexy, how you doin?" I ask damn that was cheesy "I'm fine" she says "And yourself?"

Roc runs over and cuts me off as he takes the girl away. Fuck that nigga! it's not like I was tryna fuck her out here. This bitch gon' take her away like I'ma get her in trouble!
"Yo Ray" Kairi says (pronounced Kai-ree) "Lee was here looking for you." "Baby Lee?" I ask getting frustrated.
"Yea, you already know Big Lee ain't about the gang shit."
"Why was he looking for me?"
"He said y'all had some unfinished business."
