Blinded {A Nalu Story}

1: lost

It was very fast. None of them could've reacted in time. Even after all the major battles and experience they've all had, it would seem that the enemy was in a whole other league. Of course, the one who knows this first hand now, was the victim of this quick and devastating attack.

"...LUCY..."

The voice echoed in Lucy Heartfillia's ears. It was her friends, calling out for her.
It's dark, why is it dark? Natsu? Erza? Gray? Wendy? Happy? Carla? I can hear you guys, but why? Why is it so dark?!
Lucy panicked in her mind. She couldn't understand why her eyes wouldn't open. She reached to them, to force her eyelids open, but discovered something she didn't expect.
H-Hey. What's this? It's really warm, and slippery. It's all over my eyes. Is this why I can't see? It smells...like blood.
Lucy's cry was loud. Her cry for help and sense of defeat was devastating to hear. She quickly stopped, and collapsed. Her body, on the floor.
Her clothes were torn, due to the fighting. Her keys laid untouched, beside her waist. Her hair was down, and its strands were scattered across the floor. Her eyes, they covered in blood, and drips of it slid down her face.

Natsu stood over her and clenched his fist. She looked dead, as if her soul has already abandoned him. He walked over to her, and picked her up. Her head laid over his chest, and he kept her tucked in.
"...No...not...you...why...you..."
Natsu mumbled. Crystal tears dropped on Lucy's face gently, like light rainfall.

"Oh. Whoopsie daisy! I think I went a bit to far, I think I did yeah?" The enemy said. He placed his finger on his bottom lip and flipped his hair. He walked about freely and turned.
"You kids weren't even any fun~ o'blondie there didn't even last half a minute! Strongest mages my ass."
He said sticking his toung out. He winked and jumped into the air,
"Challenge me, once you've gotten strong enough to dodge one measly attack. If you really wanna save your world that is~"
And with that, the enemy was gone. Completely gone. Their trace of smell was gone, their presence was completely extinguished.

"They're gone."
Erza spoke, releasing her armor.

"Bastard. Attacking Lucy, like that." Gray said clenching his fists together.

"Is she alright?!"
Wendy asked running over to her side.

"It looks serious!"
Carla said.

"...heal...her..."
Natsu mumbled to Wendy.

"I'll try my best, don't you worry."
Wendy replied, starting up her healing magic. But Natsu's voice was very faint. It was weak, and sounded like the voice of someone who was dying.

Her eyes finally opened up. It was slow, like a sloth. She couldn't see anything, the color in her eyes, was gone. All she could see, was darkness. She breathed outwards, and tears came down. They were a response. Something told her she'd end up like this.

"Don't cry." A familiar voice said, wiping the tear that slid down.
Natsu.
She thought.

"I can't see you...or anything..."
she says, grabbing on to his hand. He holds hers back.

"C'mon now, Wendy said it's a type of magic he used. Levy's down at the library right now, trying to figure out which type it is so we can get it off of you."

"...I.....Can't....See you...." Lucy said. But her voice was different. It was the voice of someone who's given up, the voice of someone who has accepted this fate. Her face has been overflown with her tears.
Natsu placed his forehead on hers,
"You will...don't worry...so why don't give me that inspirational smile of yours Lucy? I'll get the job done much faster." He said staring into her eyes, they were so empty.
She smiled, and cried. But the weren't tears of happiness, and Natsu knew this. He held their heads together and closed his eyes.

"You'll see again,"

The room was silent. A breeze blew in, making the curtain float, and bringing flower pedals from the neighboring trees outside. The room smelled like medical supplies and vanilla. He knew that Lucy probably put on that annoying perfume he told her not wear, and smiled.

"I promise you will."

An unnoticed tear fell, like the very last raindrop in a storm.
