The Sept Estate, Book One: The Unearthing

I know it's short, but well it's only an epilogue hehe. also, this chapter is dedicated to @iAmPerfection for making me this awesome cover x) right then, read away! ;D

Epilogue

I reach out and grab the cup of coffee, raising it to my lips and letting the warm liquid run down my throat.

“Ugh I love coffee.” I say, Hayley nods. Sudenly, the our bedroom door burst open and a tall African American women with raven hair barges in. I’ve never seen her in my whole life, which is saying something. I thought I knew everybody at the Estate.

I turn and look at Hayley; she seems just as perplexed as me. We’ve been here almost a year now, how can we not know her?

“Who are you?” Hayley asks the intruder, the women turns to glare at her before looking at me. I take a nervous sip of my coffee.

“Hello?” I squeak. The woman narrows her eyes.

“I am Katrina Sept. I own this… place.” She says with disgust. Hayley and I share a look; Katrina Sept!?

 “Oh your-? I, um, nice to meet you?” Hayley says awkwardly, I bite my lip. Is this about my brother? I want to ask, but if the answer is no then that will make my brother suspicious, they’ll be keeping a close eye on him and uh ya, that would not be good.

“Valerie.” Mrs. Sept says, ignoring Hayley completely, “We are expecting new comers. They will be sharing a room with you.”

“What about my brother?” I ask, because there is definently not enough room in this already small enough room for my brother and new comers.

“He will be staying… with this girl.” She says, making a face a Hayley. I nod, okay that’s good, Hayley knows about my brother. She can handle him, can’t she?

I send her a questioning look, she nods. Turning back to Mrs. Sept I ask her, “Who are they?”

She smiles, “new.” Is all she says before walking out. I blink. What was that?

“What was that?” I repeat out loud to Hayley, she shrugs in response and we both turn and gaze at the door Mrs. Sept just exited.

“I pity the new comers.” I say, and though I can’t see her, I can tell she’s nodding.

“Ya, me too.” She agrees.

I turn and look at her questioningly, “Are you sure you’ll be able to handle my brother?” I ask and she grins, nodding.

“Definitely, I love your brother. It’s easy to hide it once you get to know him, which is something I’ve done. So don’t worry okay?” She says, and I nod.

I bite my lip and decide I should probably go tell him about this new arrangement. Though I don’t think he’ll object, seeing as he has a huge, obvious crush on Hayley. He’ll be happy, I think reassuringly to myself as I get up and make my way over to my room, waving briefly at Hayley distractedly.

Ya. He’ll be happy.
