I felt so numb without any emotion for the next two weeks. School was worse than ever, everything was. The only thing I happy for was that Niall was no where to be found. I didn't even question if he was going to come back. Kelsey barely even bothered me, she only taunted me about Niall and asked how he was doing as a joke. I didn't find it very funny at all. There was also a rumor going around saying that I slept with Conner at the party when in reality he tried to rape me and got his ass kicked for it. Worst of all, my lousy car had broken down and was in the shop. So in other words, I had to ride the bus for a while. Other than that and my boring job, nothing happened. The excitement I had in my life for one night had disappeared.
Right now I was in journalism, it was in the middle of class and I had nothing to do. I had to tell Mr. Phillips that I couldn't do the assignment, so he made me do something else. I hated writing a paper about the cheer leading team for their regional competition. Ugh, it was awful.
I had my notebook out along with my laptop. Honestly, I wasn't doing anything I was supposed to. Just scribbling in my journal, sketching random things and wishing that I was happy, pretty much feeling sorry for myself.
I tore the paper out of the journal and crumbled it into a ball when the classroom door opened.
It was Niall and some other guy who was really good looking with curly, swept back hair and dimples.
"Wonderful." I muttered. I was just starting to forget about that stupid asshole.
When the boys came up to me I took my glasses off and turned my seat around to face Niall. My arms were on my lap and I was listening clearly. "You must be Amelia! Hi! I've heard so much about you," the curly haired boy said. I could tell that he wasn't from here from his English accent. I liked the tone of his voice, it was raspy and he seemed friendly.
"Really?" I asked Niall, with my head cocked to the side. I wondered what he had been saying about me.
"This giant prick is Harry, he's been keeping me company while I've been out of school." Niall licked his lips, looking at the other boy rather than me.
"Niall had something to say, didn't you?" Harry nudged him with an arm.
"No. Anyways, I'm here for some picture for the schools paper." he changed the topic.
Harry frowned at him, but he looked like he wanted to laugh instead.
"Niall." he said his name in a serious tone. I just watched as the two boys glared at each other.
"Fucking fine." Niall cursed. He turned and looked at me now with these sad blue eyes.
"I'm sorry I freaked out. It's just, I'm not safe... And then Harry's all, 'No, tell her it's okay', but it isn't. You aren't supposed to know, that's why I lie... You know? I'm sorry about that article or whatever you needed too, that was my fault, which is why I came here to fix it. And sorry for making Kelsey hate you even more, I guess. Also for basically breaking into your closed bookshop, and the whole 'Liam' thing, crawling over you, for you almost getting shot, and I'm sorry for the way I yelled at you the last time we saw each other. I shouldn't have been so hard about it."
Wow, Niall was sorry, for... everything. That was a lot to take in. But was he really sorry or was he just saying that he was?
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything" he breathed, looking down at the carpet. "That's all I really have to say."
I took a minute to breathe all that information in and sighed. I wasn't going to hold a grudge.
"Okay. I forgive you." I said it and meant it sincerely. Nope, not 'I miss you' or 'Im sorry too' or 'Where have you been?'. Only a flat monotone acceptance and nothing else. I couldn't help it.
