Hati woke up first. Taking a quick look around the dark clearing, Hati saw his blonde haired friend lying on the ground next to him. "Did he move me while I was sleeping? Idiot," Hati said while starting to stand up and stretch himself out. Looking up, Hati saw Selune in her glory. Any werewolf without full control would be going crazy right now, and a howl in the distance assured Hati that it was a full moon. "Good thing I've learned to control myself." Hati felt the pull of Selune, tugging him, almost asking him to transform, but he denied it, forcing himself to not lose control too soon. Looking back down at Skoll, Hati decided now would be a good time to get moving.
"Hey, hunterhater! Wake up!" Hati loud-whispered. Skoll just shifted in his sleep. Hati decided the best course of action was to kick his new friend.
"O-!" Skoll started to yell until Hati clamped his mouth shut with it's own shadow.
"Ssh. Remember the werewolf hunter base is nearby. We don't want them to have any warning that we're coming," Hati reminded Skoll, while still whispering. "Are you gonna scream if I let you go?" Skoll shook his head, and instantly he felt the pressure go away and the shadow-clamp disappear.
"Thanks for that," Skoll coldly stated before getting up and tripping Hati. "Karma's a bitch."
Hati just groaned from his position on the ground before lifting himself up. "Alright, so we have to get moving north, right?" Hati asked.
"Yeah, but I don't know how late it is. If I did, I could tell where north is."
"I know it has to be before midnight because I haven't transformed. When midnight comes, if I'm awake, I will transform. Just a friendly warning." Skoll looked at Hati like he was crazy, then shook his head and looked into the sky.
"Ok, north should be this way then," Skoll whispered while starting to sneak to the north. "Just follow me.." Skoll trailed off as he could no longer see Hati. "Where did you go?" Skoll didn't hear a response, but he did hear a bush rustling behind him and then dissonant whispering fading into nothing. Skoll shook his head and kept walking towards the hunter's base.
"Ok, we're here," whispered Hati, surprising Skoll.
"Where were you?" Skoll questioned. "You just disappeared."
"Um, shadows? Jeez, you're stupid," Hati said. "Ok, I think we should surround it and take it down from all sides."
"You're kidding. There's at least 12 of them, and a quarter are wizards."
"With enough effort, 2 mages can do a lot," Hati answered. "You take the east, I've got the west." Hati quickly turned into shadows and faded into the night.
"That's not all sides," Skoll sighed before sneaking behind the SIlver Blade hideout.
Hati looked at the encampment before him, thinking through the best strategy for ambushing it. The once-abandoned watchtower dominated the area, a single entrance and exit made it simple to watch who was coming in, and bottleneck the unwanted. But, if you were fast enough, that wouldn't matter. The 6 people patrolling in the clearing around the tower were regular guards, none mages, with silver arming swords and bucklers. The other six in the tower were archers and mages, ranged fighters, ready to take out any who steps foot in the clearing. The soft snoring coming from the tower though, told of even more people on the inside. Waking them up could pose a problem. Hati realized that he needed to be fast. Really fast. If Skoll could take care of the guards on the outside, Hati might be able to get in the tower and take care of anyone on the inside. One camp down, a few more to go.
Skoll thought it would be impossible to get in there. But, if he only had to take out half of them, he could. There were just too many guards. Maybe he could take out the guards on the outside, give Hati enough time to get in. If that's what Hati was going to do. "Oh this could go wrong in so many ways," Skoll whispered to himself before drawing his scimitar and sneaking up behind the nearest guard.
