At this point I don't bother knocking because Josie's house a second home now. I walk into the usual absolute chaos. Two of Josie's four brothers, Max and Harrison, are fighting to the death over a sandwich One of her sisters Lilly is videoing them, standing on the kitchen table and laughing her head off. In the kitchen, Jake is playing with the littlest, Maya. There's music coming from their surround sound on their tv. And all over the screams and fun you can hear Josie and her oldest brother Stephen fighting probably over something stupid.
I walk through the stunning house which is all white with dark floors and the several pops of color until it come to the bedrooms. Josie's room looks nicer then a five star hotel. Her big king sized bed doesn't even fill up the room the slightest bit. The Crystal of her chandelier dangle down to where the light hits perfectly and everything seems to be different in its own special way. Even her red walls seem to rebel against the calmness of the rest of the house.
"Why does it even matter!" Josie yelled at Stephen throwing things around her room. She throws an owl pen and he catches it perfectly.
"Because you need to think before you act!" He said in the same tone as Josie.
"I still have no idea why leaving the house without telling anyone is such a big deal!" She threw a glass at the wall leaving it to shatter.
"What if you got kidnapped, raped, or murdered!" He said dodging the glass as if it was a normal routine.
"It was a run on the beach!" Her Italian accent was coming out. She was adopted from Italy when she was three years old. Her accent only comes out when she gets mad.
"You know what? You're grounded." He growled at her and slammed her door shut leaving.
"What?! Are you kidding me, you can't do that!" She yelled and chased after him into the sitting room.
"Yes I can. Mom and dad are gone on a business trip for five weeks and they left me in charge." He yelled up the stairs as we were going down them.
"No you can't!" She said, knowing she's losing this battle.
"Watch me." He said as if he knows how to run this place. "Go to your room."
She screamed at the top of her lungs and grabbed my wrist running back to her room."He can't do this to me." She mumbled under her breath. "Can you please help me?" She asked, sitting on her bed. She trie to remain calm around me but I can see in her eyes that she is going to break.
"What do you need?" She leads me into her closet.
"Two man lift you and I can reach that up there." She said pointing to a high shelf. We do this a lot because she's short even next to me.
"Yeah sure." Josie and I are used to it- we have done competitive dance our whole life and we've always been creative when it comes to things like this.
The shelf is too high for her to reach on my shoulders, so I figure if I lift her up and she is on her toes, she might reach it. I grab her perfectly tanned tiny feet in my hands, lifting her into the air. Her natural brown waves bounce up and down like springs. I see the her blues eyes almost like flash lights they're are so bright and her sharp jawline moving away as she thinks her thought out loud. She's done that for as long as I can remember.
She tosses a escape ladder on the ground. "Cradle one two!" She falls and I catch her in a cradle. She spins around wearing blue nike pros with a black tank top, grabbing a yellow hoodie off a her doorknob. She moves really quickly like she's constantly thinking what she's going to do next. Next thing I know it she has the ladder out her window.
