My name is Mark Schmitz, Im 18 years old, I have short brown hair, Green eyes, And Im pretty much your average teenager. This soon changed.... It was a hot summer day in July, And I was on youtube and Noticed that N.A.S.A had posted a video titled: "Lucky winner draw!" I immedietly clicked on it. The video loaded up. Three NASA workers appeared on the screen. One was wearing a blue shirt, One red, And one green. Each Shirt had a Little NASA symbol on it.
The video explained how they were going to pick 3 "lucky" people to go to space. All they would have to do is comment and they "might be the winner." Even though I knew I was not going to win, I tossed my negative thoughts aside, And posted: "hi" The past few hours went by. I went to school and saw my boyfriend, Liam and his sister, Amy. We kept on talking about the draw and who was going to win.
Shcool was a LONG day. I kept on waiting and waiting and waiting. Then; RIINNNNGG! Shcool was finnaly DONE! NASA was going to post the video At exactly 6:00 PM. I kept on texting Liam and Amy saying Im so excited and stuff. 5:47, 5:52, 5:57, 5:59, 6:00 PM. BAM! The video popped up. I didn't click it immedietly though. I waited, thinking out my odds. Then I clicked.
The video was 3:00 minutes long. The first 2 minutes were saying how everyone is a winner and how it was a close guess. I was nervous, But excited. They said: The three winners are: Mark Schmitz, Amy Raso, And..... Liam Raso. My heart Exploded with happines. I was so happy and excited that I was going to space with my friends!
I went down to my Mom iin a rush. I told her all the details about it. My Mom wasnt a big fan of it but she knew I'd be safe.. She hoped. Going to school was hard now. All those people looking at you with there eyes saying "I envy you.." It was scary! It looked like they wanted to kill us!
It took a couple of weeks before we went to the Internation Space Station. I met one of the real astronauts that would be with us, His name was cam. He was really young too, only 23. It took us 5 months of Hard labor, yucky food, and space pooping to master space. It was painful but worth it..
It was the day. The day we would be launched into space. I looked at the Space Station and heard the man say: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, BLASTOFF! BOOM! We were lanched, and it took us seconds to get out of atmosphere. Space was beautiful.. better then I would Imagined.. 1 Year in space....
I brought a journal with me so I could keep track of the days. Today was the 124th day. Little did I know whappen tomorrow....
The day passed. Or ws it night? I didnt know. I wrote in my entry, day 125, Ive been here for 125 days! Time moves fast up here! Then I heard BEEP BEEP BEEP! Cameron came to me and said We have been hi- I was cut of to a force pulling us away and away from the earth. I looked ou the window, the banged my head on the wall And got knocked out.
I woke up with a headache.. It felt like we wernt moving anymore.. I saw a broken window and looked through it. We werent in space anymore. We wernt in earth.
I shook my head to make sure I was ok. I immedietly went looking for Liam, Amy and Cameron. I found them outside of the ship studying and being facinated with what was surrouding us. I couldnt blame them. It was BEAUUTIFUL. It had a light blue sky where it was nice and bright, And it had little islands of sand. Otherwise, It was FULL of water.
In the water there were Pink Pelicans. Standing int he water. I was sure this wasnt earth now. I asked cameron where we were. He said Were far from home Mark.. in neptune. WHAT! I couldnt beileve it! I thought of neptune al the windy planet. Not Paradise!
I thought, we have a engineer! Liam! :D We asked him how long it would take. He said 2-3 weeks considering what we have left. 2-3 weeks on this Paradise? I think everyone was fine with that. Little did we know..
We couldnt go in the water though. The water was made of gases that made the pelicans pink, So we would not go in. Under all that water there were monsters and terrors you could never imagone...
We had to rely on our "Spaace" food, like jello and use that thing that makes urine into water. YUK! The storms on this planet were terrible and miserable! But one night... That one night...
It started off with the end of the first week. I was walking along the shore nearby And this HUGE thing popped out and roared like hell! I ran over to Liam Amy and Cameron. I held liam telling how much I love him when Cameron whacked a piece of metal right over its face! It was so funny!
We had 1 and a half week much to wait. We faced monsters almost everynight we nearly died. This wasnt a land of Paradise. It was a land of hell. Were almost running out of space food, even though its supposed to last a year :/. I remember the big one.
The big one.
We were going to leave the next day when A gigatic monster 20 times bigger the first one Roared out of the sea! I had slimy scales that were a light green blue. It had spikey teeth and breath that smelled like dead fish. It was terryfying!
But Cameron was ready.
Oh Yush.
But Liam took a stand, and so did amy. They grabbed metal using it for shields. I grabbed a little one like a dagger. I ran up to it stabbing it, but it hit me and sent me flying into amy. Cameron sliced the monsters throat and then Liam Stbbed it repeatedly killing it.
We finnaly took off into space.
When we were in space, It took us so long to get back to earth. We were then greeted by the president holding awards. We were then awarded them :D And of course amy said shiny metal :D It was the most scariest thing in our life. And that, is a story to tell.
