"Ugh, Germany's going to be triggered."
~~
You sighed. You were late to work again! You looked up at the office building.
'It just gets taller and taller every time I get here, huh?' You thought to yourself, rushing towards those spinny doors (y'know, the ones kids love). You actually contemplated spinning through it, but you'd be even later than you were now.
You got onto the elevator and pressing floor 14. The door started to close, but at the last second, a man with spiky dirty blonde hair and lime green eyes pressed the open button and got on.
You recognized him as the personification of the Netherlands, or Tim.
You've noticed him at other World Meetings, and you've noticed he seemed blunt and rude. You took an interest to him, because you knew he had a sweet side. According to Belgium, he had a pet rabbit! He stared at you and an awkward silence hung in the air. Until...
*CLUNK*
The bright lights flickered out and the elevator stopped.
"Uh Tim? Is this... normal?" You asked timidly, it wasn't the dark that scared you, it was the fact that you might not get out.
"Does it seem normal? And who are you exactly?" He questioned.
"I'm (Y/n) (L/n) and I'm the personification of (C/n)," you said, finding his outline in the dark.
'Floor 6, huh. We weren't even half way to the meeting room.' You slammed your hand onto the buttons and found the plastic case with the sticker coming off.
"Press in case of emergency," it would've read if you could see.
You flipped up the case and pressed the big button. A sweet lady's voice came over the intercom, though it sounded prerecorded, "Please stay calm, we are working on a solution to your problem. It may take from 30 minutes to an hour. Just remember help is coming."
"A-an hour?" You asked, looking towards Tim for some kind of comfort. You didn't get it.
"It said it may be an hour or 30 minutes. It also said to stay calm, so chill out." He brushed off your concerns.
'Ok, ok, your crush just brushed you off, and you're late for a meeting. Ugh, Germany's going to be triggered.' You thought and set down your papers.
<Time Skip!>
It had been a full hour and a half since the lady said anything.
"Ok.. maybe you should call for help," Tim said, looking in your direction.
"Germany says not to carry out phones around during meetings, remember? He threw Italy's out the window once." You said, losing hope.
"Oh that's right. We might die here," He responded casually.
"E-Eh?! That's no way to think! B-but if we do die here... there are some things I wanted to tell someone. I guess that's you. I-if you're ok with it of course!"
"Ok you'll say something, then I will."
"Ok. Um... once, as a kid, I accidentally lit a firework in China's house. And he blamed South Korea. But I didn't say anything."
"Haha, I buy Lithuania and Poland's fish and pickle it and sell it for more money."
"Woah that sounds.. cool... I once found a closet in Japan's house, in his room. I shouldn't have opened it. It had a lot of... blushing girls on book covers in it."
"Oh that closet! I always wondered what was inside. I have a pet rabbit, and I'm rather fond of them."
You two went on like this for a while until you were running out of secrets. You got to know the Dutch man well. You learned he hated messy gardens and has a tulip garden, he also hates tied things, he likes to read romantic poems, and that he could be blunt and rude. Oh and he smokes.
You sighed in relief, it was Tim's turn. The only secret you had left was that you loved him and like heck you're telling him that! (Sorry, I hate swearing in text) "I've actually known who you were since I first saw you in World Meetings, (Y/n)," Tim said bluntly.
"E-eh?! I've seen you too, and I...I l-love you. Ugh I'm sorry. Now we're stuck in an elevator all awkwardly."
"No no..." he said, "I've actually liked you too. Ik van ook hou je (I love you too), (Y/n)." He started to reach out in your general direction, and he grabbed your shoulders.
He started kissing you, but just as you started to kiss back, the elevator lights flickered on and started moving up. You two grabbed your stuff and tried to look professional, but how could someone look professional when their crush just kissed them?
"Floor 14" the elevator lady chimed, and the doors opened. You two walked down the hall towards a door that read "Meeting Room 3".
You both were really late, so you got ready for Germany's scolding. Except, no one was in the room except Germany.
"Oh you two decided to show up. The meeting was getting no where, so I sent everyone home."
You two looked at each other, and you bursted out laughing. All that drama for no meeting. Tim just sent a death glare towards the floor, while Germany looked confused.
All in all, being late payed off didn't it?
