From their attack against the kraang, Donnie was losing a lot of blood leaving April to watch over him while he's in a coma. They manage to destroy them one by one leaving just one kraang left. He tells them why they were obligated to attack Donnie, but until he opens his mouth, his purpose was to shoot at him and not kill him because he always taking April away from them and that they can take over the city, and since he made his point, Leo slices it in half. They head back to the sewers only to see April stitching him up. Even though he took the bullet for her, she was thankful that he was there when she needed him, so she leans forward to his forehead and plants a kiss and walks out of the lab.

2 days later, Donnie wakes up from a coma and went to see his brothers and April in the living room. She runs to him with a smile on her face granting him a hug, but as he hugs her back, he leans in to whisper into her ear telling her 'thank you,' and with that, leans to her again, but to her lips real slow. Their kisses were warm and feverish, but the moment was so romantic at the same time. Like swimming in euphoria, Donnie's tongue collided with April's allowing entrance to her mouth and dancing in rhythm. As they pulled away from the kiss, she even pecks his lips and stays in for a hug one final time.
