Chris

Emerson was in the trunk with Scar and Eli. The tension between Levi and Matthew had calmed and April was completely okay again, but knocked out cold.

I couldn't stop myself from looking at Levi. He jaw that was far too strong for his age. His long, pale arms and thin fingers. So pale you could see the dark lavender color of his veins. He was my definition of perfection.

April shifted on my lap and i looked down to see her yellow-brown eyes looking back up. They were exactly like Matthew's. Scar and I always teased them about how similar they were.

Their stupid sense of humor. Their tall figure. They had this shy, slumped down way of walking. Their eyes shocked me the most. They had this perfect shade of yellow-brown. And when one was happy, the other was, too. When one was sad, so was the other. When one was angry, the other was. And God forbid one of them was hurt. The other felt the exact same pain. Sometimes worse. Their personalities were so unique, but exactly the same.

"What happened?"

Her voice was dry. Matthew's head swung back for a fast 2 seconds.

"Is she okay?"

"I dunno."

I said, holding April's face.

"You good, punk?"

April coughed up a laugh.

"Fuck you"

She said with her playful smile.

"She's good"

Matthew just chuckled and Scar did too. Levi hid the smallest smile under his hand.

And nothing changed for hours. Just the numbing of our legs from sitting too long.

"Uh, can we make a stop?"

Matthew looked skeptical.

"Where?"

"The place i was headed before i was picked up"

Levi said while putting air quotes around the words 'picked up'.

"I can drop your ass off if you wouldn't like a ride."

The undeniable tension began to grow again. Levi stayed quiet.

"I just want to see a friend. Well, he's more like family. . . "

Sneaky bastard. He already knew what got to Matthew. Matthew's weakest point. Family. No way he could deprive anyone from their family.

"Even if he's there, there isn't much room."

"Please."

Matthew sighed.

"Where am i going?"

He asked. Levi bit back the devilish smile

"The next right."

We stopped in front of a beautifully built house, or more like a mansion.

"I'll go check if he's here."

Levi ran to the gate, far too excited than he should be.

"And my family is just my fuck buddies. . ."

Matthew said under his breath, rolling his eyes.

"GUS!"

After a while of him shaking the gate, this boy poked out of the door. He ran so quickly to the gate, he stumbled over his feet, but pushed himself up quickly with the palms of his hands, never taking his eyes of Levi. He fumbled with the lock on the doorway gate, and ran out, trapping Levi's skinny figure in his arms. He looked around our age.
