For My Experiment

Sherlock was folded on his chair in the sitting room, arms gripping his thin legs in an upright fetal position.

He was pondering an idea that had been floating around in his brain for weeks now. The idea that he had feelings for John Watson.

No, more than just feelings. He loved his blogger and he knew that.

He just couldn't bring himself to admit it.

With a sigh he leaped off the chair and wandered aimlessly around the flat, blue robe billowing behind him.

John was in the kitchen making some tea for them, seeing as it was nine in the morning.

Sherlock stopped pacing and started to watch John make his tea.

"Sherlock what are you doing?"

"I'm watching you make tea." The detective glided forward to stand behind John.

Suddenly, the most amazing idea popped into his brain! An experiment!

He would test the effects of kissing on the blood pressure and state of mind. He'd heard various times kissing could be considered good for the health and he was more than glad to test that theory.

But on one person and one person only.

"John." John turned around so they were mere centimeters apart.

Sherlock could see a blush creeping up from the neck of his jumper. His breathing becoming faster.

Perfect.

"Sh-Sherlock... what are you doing?" John asked, obviously trying his best not to let his voice crack or stutter.

"I'm in need of your assistance, John." Sherlock said. Then he leaned closer and whispered into his ear, "For an experiment."

Suddenly he leaped away and grabbed a notepad off the coffee table and wrote in big letters at the top, "Blogger".

.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.•*•.

John was utterly lost at, "Testing the effects of kissing", when Sherlock tried to explain his experiment to him.

The blogger sat down in his chair across from Sherlock.

"What, exactly, does this have to do with me?" Dr. Watson was positive he was not the one who was going to receive the kissing.

As much as he wished it, Sherlock definitely did not want to kiss him.

"God John, you are really slow to catch on. I need to kiss you. My question is, will you let me? I must remind you my intents are only for the purpose of an experiment but you are welcome to back out at any time if it happens to be to... uncomfortable." Sherlock replied, keeping a perfectly straight face.

John knew he would never be uncomfortable kissing Sherlock.

"Ah, no. Sherlock, why me?"

"Simple, it would be very inconvenient to be forced to go out every day to find a person to kiss. Not only that but it would change the constant variable which would ruin the experiment."

"Oh." John slumped in his chair. Sherlock had a way of making people tired before the day even really started.

"Is that a 'yes Sherlock, I would be delighted to participate in your experiment' or a 'stop being annoying, go kiss a frog'." Sherlock offered sarcastically.

John blushed at the first imitation then replied, "Fine. Lets get this over with."

Suddenly Sherlock was kneeling at the base of Johns chair, face only inches from his own.

The blogger felt Sherlock's hand curl softly around his wrist, two fingers to take his pulse.

It had elevated, that was for sure. Sherlock set a stopwatch that John had not noticed before to 30 seconds and counted beats per second.

John's heart was beating wildly around in his chest simply from Sherlock's hand on his wrist alone.

Partly from the close proximity as well, he guessed.

When the timer went off John jumped and Sherlock uncurled his hand from his own.

The consulting detective wrote something down then put his hand on John's wrist again.

He set the timer and leaned in.

"Are you ready John?"

John let out a breathy 'yes' as Sherlock clicked the timer on and closed the space deprecating their lips.
