Asking out a vigilante

"What do you mean you're from another universe?!?!", weiss shouts

"it's a long story", i answer sternly. After the battle with the mech we headed back to the academy and our dorms after the police were done questioning team RWBY. I left right after hearing the police sirens and once they showed up i was already gone without a trace.

"Well, we got time", ruby says curious

"Fine, but i won't be telling you my real name though. In my universe i'm a vigilante that goes under the name Batman. I've fought crime for years, learning their ways and figuring ways to bring them down and i've trained my mind and body all the way to human perfection. I've also learned every single fighting style in the world and all it's knowledge known to man and also ended corruption in my city. One of my greatest enemies named the joker escaped a special prison for my enemies called Arkham Asylum. I spent weeks looking for him and he finally showed up by holding the mayor hostage and having a bomb ready to explode at any time but little did i know that it wasn't any normal bomb. It was a modified bomb meant to send two specific people in the blast radius to a different universe. I stopped the joker and got the mayor out and told everyone to clear the area so i can disarm the bomb but the joker had the detonator hidden in his sleeve and before he entered the car he detonated the bomb sending me and him to a different universe and hopefully it didn't kill anyone". I tell my story and most have strange looks and some with concern. Then ruby raises her hand like we're in a class.

"Why do you do this?", she asks. I stand there looking down and thinking about the right way to answer that question.

"Because i made a promise", i answer. She seems satisfied with that answer but i can already tell she has another.

"Do your parents know you do this?", she says. That question is the one that makes me decide to leave. I turn around and begin to walk out the room when a hand grabs my arm. I turn to see Yang holding my arm firmly and with a serious stare.

"We're not done talking yet", she says with a serious tone. 

"Yes, we are", i say trying to hold back my anger.

"No, we're not. We still have tons of questions and why are you dodging a question about your fam..."

"BECAUSE MY PARENTS WERE KILLED BY A THUG WITH A GUN!!!", i yell letting all my anger out. The room becomes silent and i can see the the worry on their faces, even weisses.

"I was only eight years old. I still remember that night like it was yesterday. I went to the theater with my father and mother and we decided to take a shortcut through an alley. A man came out of the shadows and asked for their wallets and jewelry. I dad stepped in front of us to protect us but it only startled him and he fired a shot killing my father. Then he grabbed my mother's pearl necklace and she tried to fight back and he shot her next and ran. I knelt in that alley that night a little boy who saw his parents be killed right in front of him. I pledged that night that i would become a phantom, a ghost, something meant to scare criminals and seek vengeance on them", i say. They don't say a word and i leave the room but i don't head to my dorm i exit the building and head back to vale to try and get some more information and with the anger and hatred i have right now. This shouldn't take long.

Team Ruby's point of view

When mat left we were all shocked we didn't talk until Yang broke the silence.

"Wow, way to drop the bomb on us", she says angrily.

"Hey, he didn't want to tell us but you had to push him", I say defensively.

"Still though, he hid these secrets from us. His friends", yang says.

"This is my fault. If i didn't poke into his history then this wouldn't have happened", weiss says. There's a moment of silence then yang speak up again with more regret in her voice.

"I'll go apologize", she says as she walks out the door but instead of going to his dorm she heads to the doors leading out of the building.

"Yang, Mat's dorm is to the right!", ruby yells.

"He didn't go to his dorm!", yang yells back.

Somewhere in Vale

"Where is he?", i say as i punch the white fang member.

"I'll never.....tell....you", he says in pain. That was my tipping point. I grab him and use my grapnel gun to get to a nearby roof. Before i reach the top i throw him up and as he's rolling i shoot him with my batclaw at the foot and pull him over the side hanging him only by his leg.

'AHHHH!!!! please don't man. He'll kill me", he says as he's hanging upside down.

"Who'll kill you and are you afraid of him?", i ask

"Torchwick will kill me and YES!", he answers with a yell at the end. I drop him and he yells and right before he reaches the ground i stop him and pull reel him back up.

"There's only one person you should fear...and that's ME!!!", i yell at him. I see the fear all over his face and i get closer to his face installing more fear.

"Where is he and what is he planning?", i ask

"I don't know what he's planning. He was...was....i can't remember where he was going", he answers

"Let me jog your memory", i say as i drop him again except this time i stop him half way on his way down and reel him back up.

"Ok ok ok, there's a hide out in the southeast outside of vale, please let me go", he answers. I throw him back onto the roof and come behind him and punch him in the head knocking him out cold. I tie him up and call the cops for them to pick him up. I walk away when i feel like i'm being watched. I stop for a second to turn on my detective vision and it picks up one person and i don't need to be a detective to know who it was. I turn around to see yang with her gauntlets out.

"What do you want yang?", i ask

"I came here to apologize but instead i find you torturing a man for information", she answers

"I got what i need", i say

"It doesn't mean it's right", she says angrily

" It isn't but it's what i have to do if i need to protect innocents"

"What happens if you go too far? what happen if the next time you let your anger out and you kill one of them?", she asks

"That my one rule with this job. I don't kill and i make sure i don't and if the day comes i do. Then i'll turn myself in", I answer. She doesn't talk at and she looks down at her feet and my detective vision is picking up a rapid heart beat. I turn off my detective vision and let this play out.

"I..came...here to say sorry. I didn't mean to push so hard.Also.....i was wondering if you would want to go to the dance with me?", she asks. I'm caught off guard for a moment but i don't show it. I stand there quietly and think about the time i've spent here so far and how i've been pushing myself. I need to take a break from all of this for one night. Also, maybe i might actually have fun.

"Yes, i'll go to the dance with you", i answer

"YES!!!", she says as she runs over hugging me and i feel myself being crushed. It's not as powerful as bane but it almost reaches his strengt. She finally lets go and i get a chance to breath.

"Trust me, i'm going to make it a night you won't forget", she says confidently

That's when i begin to possibly regret my decision.
