Chapter One

"And remember everyone, the killer is still out there. Please take caution on your way home, sadly the death of Yukiteru Amano must be a reminder that his person shouldn't be taken lightly" Hiyama says, concluding the school day
Students grab their bags and start to leave, you grab yours and start to follow everyone out of the class.
"See you later Mr Hiyama" you say
"See you later Y/n" he returns

You walk through the busy streets, occasionally glancing at your phone and at the sky. It's getting dark, suddenly your phone vibrates.

Hurry home please, it's getting dark and I'm worried.
Mum

You smile knowing she cares and she has a good reason to be worried. The killer has already killed one of your classmates and is still on the prowl in the area.
You start to walk quicker, you come up to a shortcut you always take. You turn down the street to find it mostly empty. Looking around your heart rate starts to increase and your hands start to feel clammy, your quick walk turns into a slow jog as you try to hurry home. Suddenly a figure steps into your peripheral vision. You turn your head to see someone dressed in unusual clothes. You squint to see more. The person is wearing mostly black, some sort of mask and a funny looking hat. Their hair is long and they are wearing gloves. They also have a machete.
"Oh shit" you whisper, terrified.
The figure starts to walk towards you, you freeze not believing what you are seeing.
"Oh fuck!" You shout, running in the opposite direction
You sprint back towards the school, you pull out your phone, no signal. Suddenly you bump into someone. You scramble up and look at the person.
"Yuno?" You ask, gasping for breath
"Hey Y/n" she smiles
You grab her hand and pull her up, you start to run with her.
"We got to get out of here Yuno, it's not safe" you say, running, still ahold of her hand
"Aww you're concerned about me?" She giggles
You brush of her comment. You come up to a turning in the street. You start to turn down it when Yuno stops.
"It's not safe down there" she says, looking up from her phone
"What? How'd you? Now isn't the time to check your texts Yuno put the phone away and follow me" you say, walking towards the street and holding out your hand
"Y/n, please trust me. It's not safe, we need to get to higher ground" she says, pointing to a unfinished tall building.
You look at her, and then to the street and back again.
"Ok I'll trust you" you sigh
She giggles and leads you to a work elevator in the building, she presses a button and the elevator starts to move. You look down and see the killer stood outside the building.
"Oh shit" you exclaim
"Calm down, he won't kill you. We are going to kill him" she sweetly smiles
The doors open and you stumble out.
"How? How can you talk like that?" You ask
"He's going to kill us, I can't let that happen" she smiles

She leads you behind some construction equipment.
"Hide here until I say it's safe" she says, walking away.
You hear the elevator doors ding again and the doors open. You hear a person walk out. Sounds of a struggle follow, Yuno is fighting the killer. Your heart rate increases an you start to shake.
I can't let her fight them alone, come on do something, come on anything. Just do something!
A Yelp causes you to snap back to reality. You peak out and see Yuno on the floor, barely blocking the machete with a small pipe.
"You won't hurt my Y/n" she grunts
Her defence starts to slip and the blade gets closer to her throat. You start to inhale and exhale, trying to calm down. She slips again and the blade is millimetres from her throat. Adrenaline pumping you yell as you run towards the killer. Catching them off guard they only manage to turn their head before you collide with them. They tumble away, dropping their weapon. They manage to prop themselves on all fours before you're next to them.
"Get off her!" You yell, kicking their chest
The force knocks them over, falling against some tape that labels the end of the building. Their body tears through it and falls off the building. A few seconds later you hear a distant thud.
"Oh my god, what have I done?" You question, falling to your knees
Yuno walks up to you and kneels down, throwing her arms around you.
"You protected me" she smiles into your shoulder
"I killed someone" you whisper
"You killed someone, for me" she says, pulling away from the hug and looking into your eyes.
She leans forwards, placing her lips against yours. A blush forms on both your cheeks as you kiss, her soft lips against yours. She pulls away and smiles.
"Our first kiss" she smiles
You slightly smile back at her. She lifts you up and hugs you again.
"Let's go. Walk me home will you?" She asks leading you back to the elevator.
You nod as you both leave the building.
