"This is ugly, Why would they add this to that, Too plain.", I skim through the clothing rack of Forever21, shopping with my best friend and only friend I've ever had. Karin 'Rinni' Jinsui. She's been my girl since we were knee high, her mother and my uncle were close friends. Her mother helped my uncle and grandmother raise me. As for my mother, she was in jail for killing an officer who killed my father. My father owned these streets, he came from nothing to something all by his self and years later he met my mother.

Diamond Collins, a straight A valedictorian that graduated with honors,my mother was so smart and her family depended on her to make it out of the slums of Texas. She met my father, Ruben "Pablo" Rose. A hoodlum, let my grandmother tell it. She hated my dad for dating my mother, but he loved my mom and admired her. Six month into them dating, and I was conceived. My parents were young and excited, too bad they were the only ones who were happy. My grandparents kicked my mother out and turned they back on her. My grandmother would tell me, "Diamond was nineteen and full of so many opportunities, she was my baby and when she got pregnant with you I didn't want to share my babies with him."

The night my father died, I was six years old and that day my parents decided to spend the whole day with me shopping, going to the movies, relaxing at the spa and whatever else I wanted to do. I was so exhausted by the end of the day that I fell asleep in the car. When I woke up I wasn't in my bed, I was in my best friend's Ki bed and she looked as if she was waiting on me to wake up.

"What's going on Rinni?", I asked in my tiny voice, "Where's my mommy and dad-?"

"NOOOOOOOOO!" We both ran downstairs to see who it was, it was Ms.Ming and she were screaming, crying as her face turned red while on her knees. "OH GOD!"

"Mommy what's wrong?", Aoki asked, Ms. Ming tried to contain herself but she failed.

"Girls go upstairs and put your slippers on and get your jackets!", she yelled after us as we quickly ran upstairs.

We hopped in Rinni's mother car and drove off, we made it in front my house which was just around the corner. So many flashing lights and sirens, news reporters, bystanders, and my grandparents crying their eyes out. I started crying because of what I was surrounded by. My grandparents quickly ran up and embrace me as they cried out.

"Where's mommy and daddy?", I asked crying out in between breaths.

Before they could answer, I was paramedics roll out the stretcher with my fathers covered body. So many people screamed out, and I couldn't control myself. What was even worst, strolling out behind was two cops escorting my mom out. At that age I knew when cops arrested you that you're gone forever. So I ran as fast as I could to get to my mommy. As for authorities tried to stop me, I dodged them. Like a cat chasing a mice, I was so tiny and fast.

"RuRu." She looked down at me with tears coming from her eyes.

"Mommy, what's wrong?"

"Ruru we have to go.", My grandmother intervened, and I didn't budge. I watched as they put my mother in the backseat of that police car. I knew I'd never see her again.

The police cars, ambulance, and every other nosey person gradually left the scene. Our big beautiful house wasn't so appealing nor was it a home anymore. "We'll see mommy again. Okay?"
