(A/N)
This chapter has Latin words in it. Translation is in italics. I also have some things in Hebrew though I just randomly typed in letters and auto correct fixed it. so they should be real Hebrew words. Just random. I was kind of lazy with the Hebrew but everything I have in Latin is translated to the best of my ability.
>{Awaken}<
~Awaken~ to wake up from a state of mental inclination
Soft strumming of a guitar and sung words wake me.
Some nights I say up cashin' in my bad luck-some nights I just call a draw-some nights I wish that my lips could build a castle-some nights I wish they'd just fall off-but I still wake up-I still sing your gospel-
Lord-and I'm still not sure what I stand for-ohh-what do I stand for? What do I stand forrr? Most nights I don't know-anymore-ohhhh-oh-ohhhh-oh-ohhhh-oh
The words are warm and awaken me quickly. I blink a few times before the blinding light fades. Blue sky's dance above me in a happy blissful way.
I peek around to discover people by the numbers down by the river. Cots, like mine, are set up all around. I guessing my hurry to sleep I didn't notice them.
I jump a little as a child, a little girl, runs past me screaming. Not sad nor scared cries but happy ones. A little boy follows after her happily.
My heart swells.
I turn my attention back to the angel voiced singer.
Blue eyes twinkle back at mine. The stranger smiles at me. I avert my eyes not wanting to meet his. A sweet mellow tune plays between us. I close me eyes for a moment. It's peaceful till it stops.
"I'm Oliver."
I open my eyes and stare at this disturbance.
"What?" I ask disbelievingly.
"I'm Oliver." he pulls his guitar to the side and holds out a hand for me to shake.
"I don't care." I snap.
He laughs. "nice to meet you 'I don't care'" his laugh sends spikes into my heart.
I roll my eyes and look away like he bores me.
He pulls his hand back and grins down at the ground.
"So do you often act like a bitch?"
My head snaps to him.
"Excuse me?"
"Are you also hard of hearing because if so that might be a strain on our relationship."
"Excuse me? Our relationship?"
"Ah well, you can save for a hearing aid or I can learn to say things over twice." he continues.
I stare at him for a second before deciding he's insane. I look away at the other people someone is passing out coffee.
"Want some?" he asks following my gaze. "Coffee I mean, want some?" he doesn't wait for an answer before running down the embankment to get some.
He slowly comes back with two cups before carefully sitting and giving me one. Even though he is probably insane I take it and gulp the hot fluid down quickly.
"Hey Oliver!" a boy yells from behind me.
He jogs up and sits. "Why hello there I'm Eric." he extends his hand like the 'Oliver' boy did.
When I don't respond or shake it he turns to the other boy and says, "she doesn't talk much does she?"
Oliver laughs again. "Not to pervs like you. Besides we're engaged."
