The Lost Daughter

Chapter 9

I'm gazing at the stars outside just thinking. I hadn't gone inside since Aidan arrived. I should have I had things to do and tests to study for! But all I could do was just sit there and think. I knew Aidan so well, I couldn't think of a reason why he would use me but, if he was playing with me just for Deucalion's sake; he had a lot coming his way. Days went by I hadn't gone anywhere but stay at home, no school, no texts/phone calls, nothing! I needed time to figure all of this out! Maybe a walk in the woods would help, I needed fresh air anyways. Mom was at work so I couldn't talk to her about anything, it was awkward when I did anyways. I always did with dad. He was the one that helped me when Aidan left! I cried for weeks. I was glad I had him. As I was walking in the woods I heard a noise, it was like a crinkle in the leaves; like someone was following me. No one was there , I just kept walking. I kept hearing the noise, but I couldn't figure out who was following me... Then I remembered! When Deucalion taught me how to control some of my anger and taught me what to expect from an attacker he said look up in the trees because wolves can jump. I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT THAT SIMPLE TRICK!!  So, I kept walking because I knew what to excpect after that. As soon as I got far enough from the school, I looked back. It was Derek, I didn't know why he was following me. I had only met him a couple of times with Scott because he was Alpha. I guess being a true Alpha ment you got stalked by another alpha. I just stood there and stared at him, I didn't know what to say or do, it was weird. "Why are you following me? I asked. He replied "Scott told me to watchout for you, while he's with Deucalion." "WHAT!! HE CANT BE BY HIMSELF! DOES HE NOT KNOW HOW DANGEROUS HE IS!" I said. I tried to get away but Derek grabbed me. I turned my eyes bright red, ready to attack, teeth out, everything! "If I don't get Scott right now, what do you think's going to happen? He's surely not going to live! Don't you know what he did to your mother?" He looked at me rather shocked and upset. "My mother died in a fire that Kate Argent started!" he yelled. "Is that what Peter told you? Cora knows, she was there when it happened. Deucalion thought she was dead, when she merely passed out from blood loss. You were long gone, the house caught on fire after Deucalion left dear, there's a lot to that story you don't know! You've got a lot to learn." I said. By then Cora had been long gone, she left months ago for safety reasons.Derek asked "How did Cora live if she lost so much blood." I just laughed and said " they don't call us true alpha's for nothing, you know." I left. I went to find Scott, I don't know what he needed to talk to Deucalion for, but I knew it was no good. Deucalion didn't even care that we were family anymore, I couldn't let Scott handle him alone, especially after he killed our father.
