Chapter 9: I don't get it

Jeremiah perspective:

I parked my car and went inside still rethinking her words.

"You can't do that Jeremiah you can't act like my boyfriend because your not."

It hurt more and more thinking about it.

And that Ethan guy who does he think he is? Hi I go to your church and I want your number because I'm just so stunning and blah blah blah.

I bet he does that to girls all the time.

"Hey honey, how was your concert with Violet" my mom said.

"Oh just great thanks mom" I walked upstairs.

"Wait are you okay honey?" She said.

"Yep I'm fine mom." I shut my door.

I sat on my bed and looked at a picture of me and Violet that she took last summer.

Why did what she say make me so mad? And why when I think of Ethan I just want to punch him?

Because she is mine, that isn't fair. Best friend I mean she's my best friend...

I've really been thinking about her a lot lately. I should of been there tonight when those drunk guys were making her feel uncomfortable.

I just sat at my seat waiting for her to get back, I could of protected her and been there for her.

Instead that stupid Ethan from church was there.

No I'm not jealous of him, I can't be, she obviously has some feelings for him or at least thinks he's good looking.

I'm just going to let her do whatever she wants I don't even care anymore, she isn't mine obviously...

Violets prospective:

I walked into the house and went upstairs.

Ugh, why is he so mad at me? I hate when we fight he's my best friend. Why was he so mad about Ethan? None of this makes sense

I went and looked at my face in the bathroom mirror.

Oh wow I look horrible, it must of been the crying and the fact that it's 4 in the morning.

Really sluggish I went to my bed and took my shoes off and got into the bed.

Thinking about the incident with Jeremiah made me upset and I cried myself to sleep.

What if I did have feelings for him? There's no way he would ever feel the same way now....
