A Christmas Hunting Poem

All was silent through the woods

Not a creature was stirring, not even the birds

Only then did they appear

Two medium sized deer

They played and frolicked through the leaves having fun

Little did they know that nearby was a girl with a gun

All of a sudden there was a bang

One of the deer's clocks had rang

The other ran off in a hurry with fear

There on the ground lay a dead deer

The girl so happy with thoughts of jerky in her head

Had shot one of those deer dead

And though we don't know what happened to the other deer

Be sure we'll be back to see it next year
