                                                     CHAPTER 2

After school I went to the park, only to find a bunch of popular girls from my school.

Great. Just bloody great!

My aim was to quickly walk by them, not attract any of their attention, and get home.

Of course, faith had a different path for me.

One of the girls stuck out their foot, and next thing I new?

I was on the ground beside a goddamn puddle!

I looked at my reflection in the water, and suddenly my reflection was winking at me.

"Slap her. Show her your not as soft as they think you are, Jess," my reflection said to me.

I just looked up at the laughing girls and found that they didn't have a clue that I had just seen my reflection talk to me.

Suddenly everything went black.

KAREN'S POV

I was furious. I'd taken over Jess's body (even though I wasn't supposed to) and decided to slap the living daylights outta the other girl standing opposite me.

Jess wouldn't even hurt a fly, but I would.

I'm Karen, the soul of Jess, her past life.

The reason why I am still in Jess's body?

Simple.

I am part of her.

Stuck with her.

And I was sick of watching Jess be bullied and her never telling anybody. Sick of just staying in the background as a spectator in another life.

I guess I just miss being baddass.

Back to now.

Slowly, I stood up.

"What's the matter, loser? Like the floor to much?"

"No. Just enjoying the thought of you lying there with a broken nose," I replied, with a confident smirk.

That wiped the smile off her face.

"You bitch!" the girl yelled.

"Actually, I think I've already told someone else this, but a bitch is a female dog. I'm no dog. And by the way, did your mama ever teach you that it's rude to yell in people's faces?" I said sweetly, enjoying the idea of winding her up.

And, it worked!

I watched as she walked towards me, raised her fist, and-

I dodged as she swung it at my face, stepped into her personal space, and punched her in the nose.

But I didn't stop there.

She raised a hand to her bleeding nose, then raised the other to push me away, but with incredible speed, I was behind her and pinning her arm behind her back.

It took a couple seconds for her to cry out in shock.

I grinned, flung her against the ground, and turned towards her friends.

They started to back away from me, immediately.

"Who else wants some?" I asked, my blue grey speckled eyes glittering with mischief.

They all made a run for it.

And I let them.

"Don't you dare go near me again! You hear me?!" I said, hauling the girl who'd called me a bitch up.

"Y-yes!" she replied, her voice shaky, her arms moving stiffly by her sides.

"Good."

I walked the rest of the way to Jess's house, went to my room, and did the rest of my homework for her.

I knew Jess would remember what happened in the morning, and that she'd be left with tons of questions.

But they wouldn't be left unanswered.

JESSICA'S POV

I woke up the next morning in bed, with a splitting headache.

What happened yesterday? I don't remember.

It will come back. Just not yet. Probably in an hour or so.

I jumped, looked around, and asked, "Who's there?"

Karen. Your past soul from a past life.

"What?!" I demanded,  thinking I was probably hallucinating.

Oh no! Your not hallucinating. I'm real, you just can't see me when your not looking at your reflection.

I stood up and looked in the mirror.

"That's better!" My reflection said, smiling at me.

I definitely knew it was just my reflection because wasn't smiling.

Is Karen the one that hit Kelly?

"Yes! And the girl that tripped you up." My reflection said.

I blinked at it.

"I can also hear your thoughts," Karen said.

This has got to be some joke. Maybe I hit my head and now I'm in a coma. Maybe Karen is just some made up fantasy I'm having.

No, it's not. Get it in your head! I'm real.

I turned away from my reflection and grabbed my uniform and walked into the bathroom.

Then I remembered my unfinished homework.

Ah, crap!

Don't worry. I finished it yesterday when I took over your body.

I'm going crazy! I'm going crazy!

I got dressed, combed my hair, and jogged down stairs.

"Morning mom!" I said with fake cheeriness.

"You can't go to school today, Jessica. The principal and I had a chat yesterday evening," My mom said, making me stop in my tracks.

"Why am I not allowed to go to school today?" I asked, bewildered.

Because we hit Kelly and bet up a girl who wouldn't stop bullying you in the park!

Shut up!

"Apparently you've been hitting people," Mom said.

My jaw dropped.

It's true?

Yes.

"I don't know why you did it, but I will not tolerate this kind of behaviour under my roof. And Principal Weathers has suspended you from school for a week," my mom continued.

She doesn't understand. Because she'll never understand!

And they deserved it since you were being bullied.

"You know nothing mom! You don't have a clue as to why I hit Kelly and Olivia! But do you wanna know?" I asked.

My mom went silent, shocked by my outburst.

"I've been bullied for the past 7 years," I told her.
