This is for Raphael-Santiago

The song above was kind of my little prompt song...

Request:- (if your not too busy😊)Aurora, Mauraders era, Character: Regulus BlackRough plot:I have been close friends with Regulus. His parents beat him. I notice his scars and wounds one day and I help heal him. He explains everything about his abuse to me. I comfort him. Then some fluffy stuff.

It was absolutely manic. People were running into friends arms and first years stood shell shocked on the platform. Currently I was wrestling with my trunk that was about the same size as I. Suddenly two hands took the heavy load out of mine and I stretched my shoulders and sighed at the relief of pressure. I turned to face Regulus who smiled at me knowingly.

"Come on 'rora," he said, "we need to hurry if we're going to find a compartment which isn't infested with first years." I giggled and followed after him double checking I had everything off the platform. I felt dizzy as we crossed to the train. People passing backwards and forwards all around me made me feel especially small and suffocated.

Eventually we made it through the sea of bustling students and onto the train. Once the compartment door closed all noise was cut off and my head cleared. It was like a breath of fresh air. Now calmed and relaxed I turned to my giant of a friend to properly greet him. When I turned however, I wasn't met with the usually chipper (slightly cocky) face of Regulus Black. The person before me was gaunt and hollow as if a dementor had been let loose upon him. Nothing like the usual Regulus; not my Regulus. It frightened me to see him like this.

He looked uncomfortable like he wasn't sure of his own skin. I reached out a hand to touch him. My fingers barely grazed his own fidgeting hands before he snatched them away, coiling in on himself. He wouldn't meet my eyes.

"Reg?" I questioned; my voice was soft as if I was speaking to a scared animal. He shifted. Positioned himself. Cleared his throat.

"Yeah,"he said bluntly. His voice was hard, it wasn't his voice.

"Are you okay?" I asked reaching out to him again only for him to flinch away again. I opened my mouth to ask again but he only cut me off with a mumble about changing into his robes. The door slid open and he was gone in a flash leaving me dumbfounded.

I got my book out of my bag and settled myself down to read but I found myself distracted. The book forgotten I set my eyes on the door eagerly waiting his return.

Time skip...

When he didn't return twenty minutes later I got up from my seat and left the compartment. I headed towards the boys toilets where he usually changed on the train. I waited outside wondering what to do. Slowly I reached up to knock on the door when I heard sobbing coming from inside. Panic surged through me my arms were numb and my stomach sank.

"REGULUS!" I shouted banging on the door. There was no reply. "alohomora" I whispered the spell with ease. There was a soft click as the door unlocked. Slowly, carefully I turned the handle and pushed the door open.

The sight that greeted me was horrifying. It was clear Regulus hadn't expected me to open the door as he frantically scrambled to find his top. His beautiful porcelain back was completely mutilated. He got to his feet with his top held to his chest in a protective manner obviously trying to find an anchor in this moment.

I couldn't help it. I ran to him and enclosed him in my arms holding him to me as close as I could. I needed him to know I was there for him. He openly hugged me back. His finger tips dug into my shoulders as he secured his grip on me. His back violently shuddered as he wept.

We sat there, on the bathroom floor for hours just holding one another. I waited until he was ready. When he was he raised himself from my lap and faced me with red eyes. I reached out and wiped a runaway tear from the corner of his eye and gave him a reassuring smile.

"Tell me Regulus." I whisper.

Pulling what was left of himself together he sighed and began to tell me the story of his summer holiday. He told me about how Sirius had left and how his parents blamed him. He'd been punished almost daily with beatings of both a magical and physical nature. I didn't realise until he finished that we were both now crying. I helped him heal his wound with some healing spells. (My mother was a reformed pureblood witch who worked hard at saint Mungo's.) I told him that this was only the beginning. I told him I'd be there for him forever.

Before I could think the words slipped from my lips. My darkest secret fell from my mouth and flooded the room.

"I love you."
