A new purpose

The force of their push was impossible to withstand. Reluctantly, backing into the alley miles from any help or safety. I wasn't beaten very often, but then again I knew these guys would be tough. They were the assassins association for a reason. I had hoped to avenge my sisters murder and kill the man who stabbed her instead of me, but I got more than I bargained for when four highly trained, heartless killers had been sent to do whatever they were about to do to me. I suppose they weren't gifted the luxury of making a mistake, for sure their boss was already mad enough at them for not getting rid of me when they had the chance. Only a few minutes ago, I had the opportunity to avenge her death, release the guilt and disappear from the killing world once and for all but that had been taken away from me in a skilfully designed trap.

"Hey there princess, miss me?" Questioned the first, he had clouded, emotionless grey eyes and a black suit covering every other inch of his body. He pushed me again, into the wall this time and pinned me there with his left hand next to my ear, and his right on the handle of his sword. That's the thing with these assassins, they have very traditional ways of killing and torturing people and very rarely used guns. I suppose that was part of their legacy, I mean everybody has a legacy and that's what's so important in a place like this.

"No, i was enjoying our 'break'" I almost spat at him, I air quoted the word break because, quite honestly we'd never actually met formally, I'd only seen him twice before. Once was training and second was as he stood there, over my dead sisters body, panting with a knife in his hand with the faintest grimace.

I went to move again and he grabbed my neck with his left hand and tightened his grip until I could barely breathe. My face turning more and more crimson I grasped for air and waved my arms frantically looking for a way to loosen the python's ensnarement. I was on the verge of passing out, my vision was going clouded, when he let go.

"Never answer me back, are we clear?" He boomed in an aggravated and authoritative manner, whilst the other men just stood there watching. They must have been still in training, on second thoughts because their poise was not mastered to be prepared for an attack. They were sloppy and I could see their weakness, they were simply an accessory. Clearly, the boss massively underestimated me.

I saw the punch coming, it was probably because I wasn't paying attention to the man in front. I swiftly grabbed his wrist and twisted is as hard and fast as I could so that it was behind his back and he dropped his sword. I picked it up swiftly and held it to his neck. This gave me the advantage.

"I'm impressed, Miss, but I'd rather you put the sword down" he calmly stated in a Russian accent. It's funny, because the assassins association usually ensures all assassins speak American, to make them unidentifiable and untraceable. Maybe this guy was a new recruit, too, or they were finally beginning to change their ways.

The other men started to close in, frantically trying to think of a way to override my power over their obvious mission leader. Thats when I heard a bang, we all jumped to look around but before anyone could react, a figure leaped out from the shadows and shot the three men in the heads, instantly killing them. He then turned to me and the other man and grabbed my arm, pulling me away from the assassin and he lifted me up bridal style, and ran.

"Who are you and what the hell do you want?!" I exclaimed to him rather shocked and puzzled regarding the situation which just took place.

"I am Giovanni Misorri, Miss Friar, and I have a purpose for you" he effortlessly claimed in an Italian accent, as he was running in and out of the streets until we arrived at a black Audi TT. He ushered me in the back seat and got in the other side whilst he instructed the chauffeur to drive onwards.

And with that, my life changed forever.
