What a sweet boy.

He'd waited for such a day to come along for so long. He was so happy, so proud, that it was finally going to happen. It was here. It had come to fruition after all.

And by God, he was going to take it by the scruff of its neck.

His first date. Yes, with an actual girl. There was an actual human being on this immense Earth that was actually willing to spend time with him alone.

He was amazed.

Of course, it wasn't his first crush. That had come long before, many years ago. He just didn't seem to know how to nail down a date. The anomaly eluded him at every turn.

Until now.

He'd finally succeeded.

And yes! The day was finally here and he couldn't have been more excited if he tried. Inevitably, the nerves would come. But they weren't here yet and he was going to enjoy it.

It was still only morning, and she wasn't coming over until the afternoon. He had time. He had to plan everything to the letter, something he'd yet to do. But it didn't matter, the hard part was over. Smooth sailing was to come.

His heart quivered when he thought of her. Her long, sandy brown hair. It reached her shoulders in one wave, swinging about whenever she shook her head. It might as well have been a halo.

And her smile! Lord. That was when the sweet boy fell in love all over again. Again and again. Every time he saw not just her smile, but her face.

Beauty in its purest form.

Every detail, every crevice, every ounce of skin. It was simply perfection. He'd never seen anything like her.

He never expected her to look twice at him, let alone agree to a date with him!

Oh, Angela, he thought. How I love you.

He truly believed that he did. He'd never felt this way about anything before. Obviously, he loved things and people. He loved his family, his mother. But it was different, the way he felt now, about Angela.

It was a completely different feeling altogether.

Golly, he didn't know how he'd react if she requited his feelings. If she voiced them to him, if she were to look at him the way he looked at her. He was excited to find out what he would do!

And it wasn't long until he would find out.

He just hoped his mother wouldn't come in all the time. He didn't need her cramping his style. She sure had done in the past! Not to say that he didn't love his mother, because he did. She was everything and more to him.

But he loved Angela more.
