Prologue
Monday the first of April, 2012. The sky amazingly aqua shining warmth and happiness, as at 9am sharp people were off to school and work, but this day wasn’t a day for high spirits and only one man alone would create the blood bath of a horror story.
The whole office fell silent as the first gunshot echoed through offices; people fall to the ground in shock. A man who works there, a loving man and very well-known walks into the open area with a sadistic smirk, he waves the gun around for everyone to see. Gasps and whimpers fill the room until he raises his hands for everyone to get on the ground and not make sounds.
“What are you doing?” The question was asked to the man, but he didn’t reply he just aimed and shot the gun around the office twenty five times, blood curdling screams rushed around him; he just simply laughed, the laugh that would have you cringing.
He raced down the flight of stairs, once he got to the main entrance a group of students who are on a school trip to the business place stand frozen looking at the well-known man, the teachers tell the students to get down, they don’t listen instead they run. The man shoots his gun again knocking six students and three teachers to the ground dead; he simply walks past their bodies with an emotionless expression. He gets into a black sleek car and speeds away towards his own home.
The police hadn’t been able to catch him as he jumped out of the car and skipped up the steps to his home, he threw open the door and called out for his wife and son, they catch onto the man’s blood speckled appearance and simply stared waiting for a explanation from the man, the man who they trust and love.
“Dad why are you home early?” The fourteen year old boy asks his dad innocently.
“Honey if I knew you’d be home early I would have prepared dinner sooner.” She chuckled, still not commenting on his appearance. He just stood staring at them.
“Dad… Why are there red drops all over your shirt?” The son asked wearily.
“I killed everyone, everyone that got in my way; work mates, students, teachers and now I have to kill you two too.” He voice held no emotion as sobs broke out from the Mum; the boy just stood staring at his dad, his gaze locked onto the gun in his dad’s hand. The hand with is meant to create protection for his family not take it all away and be the danger.
“Why Dad? Why would you do that?” He asks as his voice breaks.
“You want to know why? I killed them because son, I don’t need any of this. Every day we wake up to the same life; same house, same job, same people and same family. That’s all my life is ever going to be, and guess what? I don’t fucking want it; I’m not the nice guy you all want. I’m going to take you and your Mum away from it all.” He speaks; the whole family hear the police sirens from the living room.
“So this is good bye, I do love you guys truly.” He chuckles pulling the gun towards his wife.
“You cannot love anyone, you’re evil!” The son cries toward the dad, as he falls to the ground in sobs.
“Please darling, don’t hurt him.” She begs, hoping that he will see right.
Without a word the man presses the trigger on the gun, everything falls silent as the boy looks up to see his Mum’s head half open across the cream carpet, her eyes still wide open. The boy looks at his Dad is horror, the Dad just stares at the wife and whispers a weak apology and then turn to the son.
“The police are outside and coming up the stairs in a moment, I’m going to shoot myself in the head now, I won’t shoot you because at least now your life will be different. Don’t you get bored of being nice? Being friendly to everyone, being a normal citizen like everyone else. You’re going to be hated on son, for that I’m sorry.” With that said the man kept eye contact with his son as he lifted the gun to his head and smiled wickedly before clicking the trigger.
The gun shot exploded, the police ran in; they shot the man twice again as his body twitched on the ground, whilst two female officers grab the boy out the room.
That day would never be forgotten, all the lives torn apart because of one man. It would all fall onto the boy’s shoulders, how his Dad killed people’s parents, uncles and children. No one ever knew why.
