In this book I have created another race of supernatural beings.... humans who have a special talent( also referred as gifts) and a weapon to defend themselves. This group is known as arnoxes... so I hope you enjoy.
I took a deep breath. I was drowning. Suddenly I saw a face, it was a boy. Maybe two or three years elder than me. He was trying to get hold of me. I was trying to see his face properly but just then someone screamed in my ears," ms. Evelyn Lockwood!!!!!" I opened my eyes. I was drenched in my own sweat. I regained my senses as I was sitting on my bed hugging myself. " Sorry, I didn't know you were having a nightmare." I looked up to see my best friend Beth ( her real name is Elizabeth) looking at me with her sympathetic face. "It's okay. Even I didn't realise that I was having a nightmare ." I didn't lie completely as I'm getting this dream almost everyday, so now I don't actually take it as a nightmare. She smiled," well, get ready. The Greeks is waiting for us." Maybe I will be the only one ( at least from my college) who loves her part time job. I got up from my bed and went to freshen up. I wore black shorts, blue t- back and a very long shrug. I tied my hair into a ponytail. No one can call me fashionable but I am comfortable in whatever I'm wearing.

As we were heading towards the car. I felt like somebody is following us but there was no one when I turned. Weird. I sat on the driver's seat and started the engine. As I turned the gear into driving, Beth said," so what is wrong with you and Ryan ?" " well I'm pretending to be bugged with him because he didn't give me the last piece of pizza yesterday." She rolled her eyes and said, "that is a very stupid reason to be bugged with him. He is cute." I couldn't help but laugh. She didn't ask me anything about why did I laugh. There was no way I was going to tell her that Ryan is a gay. So basically even if Beth starts having feelings for him, he will never have that type of feelings for her. We hurried to the cafe + bar. My part time job is as the bartender of 'the Greeks '( that is the name cafe+ bar). Beth takes order from those customers who are too lazy to come to the counter or who don't sit on the bar chairs placed near the counter. I put my bag behind the counter. At that moment Ryan entered. When he saw me, he smiled, he smiled at me as if he wants to cheer me up by his smile. I ignored him even though I wanted to smile back at him. He came near the counter and put a tiffin box on the table. He carefully opened it and there it was. The last piece of pizza. He didn't eat it. So sweet of him. So I took the last piece and stuffed it into his mouth. I knew wouldn't regret it. " why did you do that?" He said as half of cheese and meat was nearly going to fall from his mouth. He stuffed it back again. Gross! I started cleaning the table as I tried to ignore the fact that Ryan didn't know how to eat. Just then two customers entered. One headed towards the farthest table from the counter and the other one came towards the counter. Beth whispered to me, " I think we need an air conditioner as the one at the counter is too hot. I wish I was the bartender." She winked at me as she went to take the order from the guy sitting at the table. As I turned to take a proper look at the guy at the counter, I admit he looked hot. He had messy dark brown hair( not a sleepy messy but this one was a warrior messy), he was a little tanned with muscular body and turquoise eyes. The only thing that seemed out of place was his expression. I mean he had that 'I am bored with everything ' type of expression but that is not the expression any one would have when they enter a bar. Maybe he will be one of those people who come to the bar only to sulk around. This guy was standing behind Ryan. Suddenly Ryan gets up and says," well I have some work to do. So bye." That is the weirdest thing that I have heard Ryan speak. First, he didn't hug me before leaving and second, today is Sunday and Ryan ( who is really rich ) doesn't have anything to do today. Well, he is Ryan, he can just laze around the pool and yet call him buzy. The hot guy sat on the bar chair where Ryan was sitting earlier. I went to take his order." What do you want?" I said. He looked into my eyes. His look was intense but then suddenly he had this confused look on his face and then his expression changed, he looked as if he wants to kill me. He went of the Greeks frustrated. The first psycho hot guy I ever met. Im not always a stalker but my instincts told me to follow him. So I did. He didn't go far away. He just went to a lonely road where no one actually goes. Then he puts a toy on a bench and talks to it. Well that confirmed my doubt. I moved to a closer wall and then I heard him," I couldn't do it!! I couldn't use my gift on her. It's irritating!" That time the most unusual thing happened. That toy grew to a normal human size. I fell backwards. I know I shouldn't panic in this situation but I just did what first came in my mind. I ran. Suddenly, something that looked like belt wrapped around my waist. Then there was my great fall, directly on my noise. " stop it, Ian. You are hurting her." I heard a voice say. " well, she was not supposed to eavesdrop." Another voice said. Then someone turned me. I opened my one eye. The human sized toy was looking right into my face. He smiled when I opened my both eyes. Before I could say something, he said," don't panic. I just want to know one thing." He had blond hair and blue eyes. He was very fair and had a straight figure. He was cute but the most important fact was that his friendly smile calmed me. " what?!" I said. Then from behind him, the hottie( well he is hot) said,"really? I don't have time for this. I need to find out why my gift didn't work on her." That time the human toy's Bluetooth beeped. He got up and went a little far so that I couldn't hear him. Ignoring the deep stare the hottie was giving me; there were actually many questions in my head. First thing, who are they? What do they want? What gift does that mean hottie has that did not work for me? "Well we have to go. Right now." The human toy had come back blocking Ian's view. His voice was tensed. I was relieved." Don't worry. Whatever I saw will be a secret and I will not be inquisitive." The toy human said," well that's not a problem as you are coming with us." "What!!! Why is she coming with us?" The mean hottie inquired. "Even I don't know, it's queen's orders." Replied the human toy." I am not going anywhere!" I don't even think so that they needed my opinion because hottie sprayed some weird thing on my face and I black out. ---------------------------------------------- Hey readers, I hope you all are enjoying the story.
