grace huffed, cutting forcefully at the hedge. the day had dragged out forever and she couldn't wait to get home and relax. being a gardener wasn't exactly what most fifteen year olds would be doing as a job but it suited grace, considering she didn't really like talking to people she didn't know if she didn't have a reason to.

a sweat bead formed on her forehead; grace quickly wiped it away and put the hedge trimmers in her back pocket. they were big and almost falling out but she didn't really care. as she went to get her bike, grace spotted a figure hovering over one of the rose bushes.

"hey!" grace called, "stop that!".

the guy spun an his heels, holding a pair of scissors in one hand and two roses in the other, "excuse me?".

grace frowned and sighed in frustration, "i just cut and cleaned up those bushes, couldn't you get those flowers from some other bush that still needs to be tampered with?"

"oh sorry," he said with no guilt.

"why do you even need them?", grace asked, gesturing to the roses.

"none of your business", he turned and walked away. grace shrugged and left quickly on her bike.

On the way home, she couldn't seem to get the boy out of her mind. probably just because he was cute, considering grace doesn't actually know him.
