We met in jail.

Well, not really jail, but it felt like it. We were put in this program that helps wayward kids find their way to success and shit, all while restricting them of their very rights. So, basically juvie.

Anyway, I had met Stokeley first. The program has paired us up due to the fact that we were the only ones with last names that start with a 'W'. We had to sit next to each other in every class, so eventually we had broken the ice and became friends.

"Why are you even here? You are way too pretty to be here" he said. I smiled at the compliment, but shrugged my shoulder at the question.

"I like to fight. Mama ain't raised no bitch. But, I guess I became too much for her" I said. He nodded. I then asked him why he was here.

"Well, my best friend and I came here together. In reality, it was his fault, but I wasn't gonna let him go by himself" He told me. It warmed my heart to see that people really got they best friends back like that.

"Really? What's his name?" I asked.

"Well, I'm not at liberty to say. But everyone calls him 'X'" he said. I laughed.

"Ok, so what do they call you?" I asked. He smiled wide.

"The streets call me Ski Mask, but you can call me Ski" I nodded.

"Well then, you can call me Cuban. But, my government is Chyanne" I told him. He nodded.

"Chyanne. I like it" and with that, we had clicked. He had become a real good acquaintance, always cracking jokes and popping shit with the staff. I really enjoyed his presence.

I had met Jahsah later that day. We all had lunch at the same time, and we could sit anywhere we wanted to. The one good thing about this place was the food. That shit was cracking.

Ski and I had made our way to the lunch room when we were greeted by this boy. He had black twist with the side shaven. He also had face tattoos, but I couldn't read then at the moment. He came up to us and dapped up Ski.

"Aye, I was wondering what you were coming through, son" he then looked at me. "Who's she?" He asked.

"This is Cuban. We've been partnered up, but she cool people" Ski said. I looked back at the kid. He laughed. What the fuck was so funny?

"They call you Cuban? Yo ass don't even look remotely Spanish" he said, still laughing. I looked him up and down.

"I know you're not talking. I thought this was a juvie, not daycare. Why don't you find a playpen and sit your little ass down, ok?" I crossed my arms over my chest. He quickly stopped laughing, and looked at me. Then he nodded.

"Ok. You're cool. The name's ' X' by the way. Nice to meet you, Cuban" he smirked.

So this was X. Ok. He was kinda cute.

During lunch, we all had joked around and laughed. X and Ski even spit a few bars. It was almost like having big brothers. I was almost enjoying being here, if it wasn't for the bad circumstances.

After lunch, we had recess. I found it weird, because I didn't even have this in high school. But we found a spot by this big tree, and sat in the shade, since it was hot out. We were just talking about dumb shit, like clothes, girls, and getting out of here.

But something caught my eye. It was a small group of girls, standing like a yard or two away. They seemed to be circling this one girl, like they were gonna jump her. I hate seeing things like this. Like, why can't she just get her one on one?

I shook my head, getting heated. I hopped up from my spot on the ground. Both X and Ski looked at me.

"Where are you headed too?" Ski asked. I pointed to the little group.

"I think they gon jump ol' girl over there" I told them, and started to walk over. It wasn't until I got a little closer, that that started fighting her. So I ran.

I can't really remember what happened, but I don know that I saved her from getting jumped that day.

That girl was Kristiana. My little baby girl. Honestly, I have a special place for her in my heart. She's the youngest in our group, and Stokeley was the oldest. Me and Jahsah happened to be the same age, but I was older by a few months.

I don't know how, but the four of us had clicked. It was almost like fate. They slowly became my best friends, and then my family.

I would go to the ends of the earth for them, and I know they would for me.

I would kill for them, no questions asked.
