God he couldn't stop thinking about her. She was too good for him, how could he possibly ever deserve someone like her? The way she absolutely loved her work was amazing and inspiring, she never let anyone get in her way; not even him. But the promise he made to Mr.Stacy, his dying wish, was to leave Gwen out of everything that could get her hurt.
As much as it killed him to admit, it was the right thing to do; but he couldn't stay away from her. He moaned in frustration and rolls off of him bed accidentally. Laying on the floor looking up at the ceiling, he just feels like screaming into the empty space. What was he to do now? Gwen wasn't sure about dating yet, and obviously he was conflicted too. He silently wished that he was just normal, and could have a normal relationship...but no, he always had to screw everything up in everyone's life all the time.
He realized too late that he was squeezing his bed post, when he lifted his hand up, there were distinct finger indents. "Oh god" he whispered, "Aunt May's gonna kill me". He grabbed his backpack and jumped from his window, hoping that Aunt May wouldn't find him for at least three more hours.
Halfway down the street he began to pick something up; his sense was never wrong, and neither was his intuition. He sprinted into the area of police cars and conceded civilians to witness the Goblin holding a man over the side of the buliding.
Running inside he threw off his clothes, the Spider-Man suit already on. The raced up the stairs and came up behind. All the Goblin did was laugh when he told him to put the man down. "Make me" he laughs, the evil in his eyes already shining with intent on domination.
Gwen tightened her ponytail and bit the end of her pencil for the hundredth time. Her homework was getting harder with everyday, and her internship was receiving more and more hours for even more stress. She jumped when she heard a knock at her window, but realized it could only be one person. Smiling she turned in her swivel chair and lifted the window revealing an equally amused Peter.
He reached his head underneath the window to kiss her, but collapsed from the pain of the windowsill jamming into his broken rib cage. "Peter oh my god!" Gwen scrambles to help him into the chair right by her curtains, and locks the door to her room. Peter sighs, "Not as exhilarating as I expected". Gwen bends over his face, "What jumping off a building?" Peter looks at her with seriousness in his eyes, "No being thrown off of one".
After a few seconds of shocked silence Gwen manages to ask what happened. Peter recounts the story but halfway through begins to cough. Gwen laughs "Oh Pet-" but stops abruptly as Peter begins to cough up blood. "Peter we need to get you to a hospital now! She raised her eye brows as he raised his hand, "No protests, we're leaving".
She helps him to the door and practically carries him into her car, glad that the roles had been switched for a change. She laid him down gently, and then proceeded to scream into the New York City traffic against the protests of Peter. Within his suit a biological gerenade beeped, sealing their fate at a minute rate, the Goblin was always one step ahead.
