''You are on house arrest!'' Her dad screamed as he pulled the door behind him shut with so much force, that it caused the whole wall to vibrate for a second.
She walked to her glass wall and looked through it, seeing the whole city in front of her. She leaned her head against the glass, carefully at first, then lifting it and letting it drop to the glass again. Harder.
Bang.
Bang.
Life sucked.
Her phone was taken away from her, and nearly all her internet pages on her Macbook had been blocked by her dad, including Hot or Not, Instagram, Tinder, Whatsapp, Facebook... And so on.
The next morning, she woke up by the sun which shined in her face, just like every other regular sunny morning.
''Mia. Breakfast.'' Shawney said through door.
''Morning,'' Mia said as she met Shawney's sweet face, who was waiting for her at the doorstep.
''Morning Miss Avalon. May I clean your room? Since it is Saturday..''
Mia just nodded in response and continued to the kitchen where her dad sat down on the table, a pile of perfect baked pancakes and toasts made by Shawney in front of him.
''Sit.'' he mumbled.
Mia just walked to the kitchen counter and poured some water in a glass before she turned around.
''I said sit.'' Her dad said, his back turned to her whilst he read in some kind of newspaper.
''I'd rather stand.'' She answered as she looked down at her glass.
''Fine. Two extra weeks of house arrest.''
''Dad!'' Mia yelled as she put her glass in the sink and walked to the other side of the table, her arms crossed. ''That's bullshit!''
''That's not how we speak in here.''
''I don't care.''
''Another week,'' her dad said as he looked down at the newspaper again.
''You are so unfair.'' She rolled her eyes.
''I am not being unfair. Shawney!''
''Yes sir?'' the young, blonde women said with a soft voice as she walked into the kitchen quickly.
''Is smoking and drinking right as an under aged kid?''
''I'm not a-'' Mia started, but her dad hushed her.
''No sir.'' Shawney finally answered.
''Is getting house-arrest fair then?'' Her dad asked the maid.
''Yes sir.''
Mia turned around, still armed crossed, and she looked at Shawney, who didn't look back, but stared at her shoes instead.
Shawney always obeyed her dad. Just because he payed her.
Oh, how much she hated that man.
She turned around again and grabbed a toast before taking a bite, so the crumbs fell on the floor, table and chair.
''Mia, for gods sake, stop messing with me. Enough is enough!'' Her dad said, his voice raising.
''I don't care.'' She said as she stared at him. ''Just because you're rich doesn't mean I will obey you like a little slave.''
'*Stop being ridiculous!'' He yelled. ''You are my daughter!''
''Yes, so what? You feel more like a stranger to me.''
