When people say that Loki is a villain I fight back and try to persuade those who believe that that he's not. So here goes.
Now in thor he was a kind, good, if not mischievous boy and man. When he tried to kill thor we were all appalled right? Well think about it loki is a very emotional person and when he was told that he was one of the monsters that his people hated his emotions, and his demons, took over and as his heart fought against what he knew was wrong everything that was within him all the anger and hurt and pain and torment that he felt since a child ruled what he did. Does that make him evil?
Now then when he wanted to destroy jotenhighm (how spell that?)
He thought it was right and with the need for the acceptance and pride he needed from Odin burning in his soul he believed. Truly believed that what he was doing was right. Evil? And when he fell into the void think about what he went through. He landed on a planet that he didn't know and was hurt and in pain. He then met thanos who we all know is a manipulative and truly evil "god" who could take any of the avengers and rip them apart. He was "helping" loki and as he slowly wormed his way into loki s destructed mind he broke it even more with pain and torture and built it back up the way he wanted it to be. Now we have no evidence of this right? But remember loki never wanted the throne right? So why did he want midgard? To hurt thor? But his true mission was the tesseract. Because thanos needed that. So if loki was working for thanos and his only real objective was to get the tesseract I'm thinking why would he do that? Well think about the staff that loki carries. Gungnir or whatever. And remember when it was with the avengers? Well they were fighting and disagreeing and threatening each other. And Bruce even picked it up while say I g he wanted to kill himself. When somebody said banner put the scepter down. He looked down at it like he didn't know why he had it.
Now my theory is that this scepter feeds off of the negative feelings of people. Like when the avengers were fighting. And we know it would work on loki because he was just chalk full of negative feelings.
Also in avengers when loki and thor were fighting on the roof when thor yelled "look at this madness loki. Do you think this will end with your reign?" Loki looks out over the chaos and his whole face changes as if he was pulled out of a trance. And he says "it's too late" in one of his most broken voices. Now tell me if that is evil.
Also in thor the dark elves he talked to Frigga and although he rejected her you know it hurt him. You could really see he was didn't really mean it. He loves Frigga to much to mean it. We all have to say that for him. And evil, truly evil, people don't love anybody. They don't have a weakness that is tied to someone they love.
When Frigga died he showed how he truly loved her for he tore up his room and you saw him as he bled. So my prev statement is proven true.
And why didn't he just turn on thor and run? Now some of you might say that HE DID RUN HE FAKED HIS DEATH. But really did he? He said things that he would never say, that his pride wouldn't allow him to say, to thor. Like "I'm sorry. Yes I am a fool." He said that. And do you really think he would say that, for all his pride, when he was just faking his death?
Also in thor ragnarok, which I haven't seen yet, he seemed to be on the good side right? He was in the arena that the ruler of the scavenger kingdom or whatever was. He was watching thor fight.
1:36 look at that! There he is. So if he is truly evil what is he doing with a ruler who thor is fighting for? Now here's the ending argument.
If he was truly evil in avengers and people still say he is evil. Why did he help thor? Why is he with the ruler of the scavengers who are trying to save the world from ragnarok? Now tell me if I'm wrong on this please. But I do think that my argument is a based one that tells exactly what we all know yet don't see.
PLEASE TELL ME IF I AM WRONG OR IF YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT ARGUMENT THAT YOU THINK WILL PROVE MINE WRONG.
my veiw on lokis innocence has changed. he no longer without fault and completely perfect. he is flawed and somewhat broken. he is responsible for some terrible things that can never be erradicated. but he is also responsible for some good things as well. those good things still lead me to believe that humanity and love still reside in his sly and mischevious mind and heart. he is an anti-hero to me now. he reminds me of jason todd in alot of ways. i mean they both died and rose back up from thier graves. and they both came back more unstable and dangerous than when they "died". they both hold grudges agianst people they secretly still love. i mean, there are so many likenesses. and that is the basis of how i feel about loki now. he isnt the innocent but slightly mishevious boy he was when i first saw him, he is a tortured inividual that has lost his way and made some pretty big and bad descisions. i do think that thor is giving him back some of his humanity, and undoing the torture that thanos did (still believe that happened). and maybe he will come to think of himself as a man with issues instead of a monster who has no heart.
my love for lokis unique character has not diminished, my thought on his actions is just slightly changed. i still believe that he is capable of being changed and still has love in his heart. i will always cherish loki as one of the most interesting characters i have ever encountered with so many versions of his story.
i am a part of lokis army.
