"I'm so excited!" Maddison blubbered.

"Heh, same. You're actually the only person who talked to me since..."

"You don't need to say it."

I had three classes with Maddison, language arts, science, and gym.

"Why aren't we swimming?" She asked me.

"The swim team is teaching the freshmen how to swim."

"And?" Maddison said.

"I don't need help," I replied.

"And I do."

I looked at her, Maddison had one of the school's swimsuit because she forgot to bring her own. "Their swimsuits are ugly, ugh!" I chuckled at the sound of her rage.

I had on my own swimsuit, a two piece, but had a huge tee shirt covering my top part of the body.

"Why have a swimsuit, but don't swim?" She curiously asked.

"I don't like swimming in front of people." She pulled me up by the hand, running up to the lines where the boys swim team taught everyone how to swim. There was three lines filled up, Brandon's, Henson's, and Oliver's line, the rest had one or two people.

"I'm gonna go to that guy's line, he's cute." She points over to Henson.

I tugged my tee shirt down. There was no way I could take it off in front of other students. I walked over to one of the sophomore's line.

The objective was, they give you instructions on how to swim, but I already knew how to swim, ever since I was a little child. Then we race with the other lines.

The other people swam and came back. It was time for me to go up. I looked to the right and saw Maddison waving over.

"You have to take off your shirt." I looked over at the boy.

"Excuse me,"

"I didn't mean it in that way, I meant they won't allow cotton or any other clothing fabric in the pool." I watched my hands shake. I slowly took off my huge t-shirt. I tried covering my opened body with my arms.

"All you have to do is kick your legs an-"

"I know how to swim." I stopped his sentence before he said anymore words.

"Great!"

Coach was ready to blow the whistle. I could feel my heart pounding.

"Ready, set,"
-blows Whistle-

I took a huge leap in the water. I moved my hands and kicked my legs, moving my head to left and right. I couldn't tell if I was winning or losing. I touched the end of the wall, and swam back. I could hear people cheering on others. I finally touched the wall. Coach blew the whistle once again, looked left and right, the others haven't made it yet. A slight smile brew across my face.

"Fern, that was great!" Brandon ran over. I climbed up the pool latter. I simply ignored him. I put my t-shirt back on. Maddison ran over and gave me a hug.

"Geez Maddison, your soaking wet!"

Coach walked over to me, I could tell something was up.

"Miss Lando, I've watched you out there, you won, how exactly?"

"I've been swimming since I was 3."

"I'm aware, your brother told me. I expect you to join the girl's swim team. It will help with your collage scholarships and tuition."

"You should totally accept it!" Maddison jumped up and down clapping.

*Whistle Blows*

"No jumping in the pool area miss Greyson!" Maddison felt her ears, crying over the fact that she can't hear anymore. I giggled at her grief.

"I'll think about it Mr. Gerald." He nod his head and walked away.

"Girl, you didn't tell me you can swim!!" Maddison gushed.

"Who did you think taught Brandon how to swim?"

"Really!"

*RING RING*

"School ended, come on, lets change." She beamed at me.

"No thanks, you go ahead." She walked off into the locker room. The whole pool was empty. I gently took off my t-shirt again and slowly climbed down the latter. I walked to the middle of the pool and laid down floating on top of the water.

"Hey! the pool is closed! The boys team is suppose to practice." I stood up and rubbed my eyes to see who it was. I wrapped my arms around my waist.

"Sorry, I didn't know."

I turned around and saw Oliver, the one person who scares me the most. I swam back to the latter.

"Fern Lando, you were great out there." His tone of voice changed.

"You're not too bad." I softly said, trying not to provoke him.

"I didn't apologize correctly this morning."

"It's alright," I gave him a slight smile. I hopped up and sat down, splashing my foot against the water.

"Hey, when did you learn how to swim like that?" He sat down right next to me. "My father taught me, and I taught my brother." I watch him break out laughing.

"Wait, wait you taught Brandon Lando how to swim." I nod my head. "Please don't tell him. I promised and..."

"I get it, I won't. But you should join the girl's team. You get to teach freshman how to swim and it helps with your collage tuition."

"I'll think about it." I got up off the ground and walked into the locker room. I got changed and went home.

It's going to be the slowest two months of my life.
