GRAVITY-TANGLED
It's a Tangled inspired AU.
So basically,
Stan and Ford grow up living near the shore of a beach in a small village near a kingdom. One day while playing on the shore, Ford falls and scrapes his knee. To comfort him, Stan sings a lullaby that their mother had taught them. They notice a flower begin to glow a bright golf and Ford is instantly healed.
(Fast forward a few years so they are now teenagers)
Stan has joined a group of thieves without his family knowing while Ford is now the apprentice of an alchemist, his main interest being the magic of the golden flower. During his studies, Ford discovers that the flower hold the secret to immortality. When he tells his brother this, Stan immediately suggests that they make a living off of it, but Ford makes him swear to keep it a secret. Stan ends up agreeing but they end up holding a grudge against each other.
[Fast forward a year or two later]
The Queen has fallen ill while pregnant, so the king sends out soldiers to find a cure, in which they stumble upon the flower. They take it and brew it into a tea, and the queen is instantly cured, and gives birth to twins. A boy and a girl.
Ford, furious to discover what has become of his precious subject of study, plans to break into the castle to retrieve it (without realizing that it's already too late) but his brother has already been one step ahead of him. . .
Stan arrives in the castle to discover that the flower is gone. As he's sneaking out to leave, he accidentally wakes the babies and they start crying. Out of pure instinct, he begins to sing the lullaby and something magical happens. The girl's hair glows a rose/pink aura while the boy's birthmark glows blue. Stan is instantly intrigued. When he hears guards coming, he panics and grabs the girl without thinking and disappears out the window.
A little while later, Ford enters the room and makes the same discovery, but only believes that there is one child, the baby prince. So he takes the baby with him in hopes of continuing his studies. . .
As Stan raises the girl, who he names Mabel, he soon realizes that she doesn't hold the power of immortality, but only the power to heal, and it's only possible of happening when she sings the song herself. Stan has been a thief for many years now, and has trained Mabel to be one too. Plus, her magic comes in handy for certain situations.
As Ford raises Dipper, he discovers that instead of immortality, he carries the ability to destroy anything he touches. Whenever he sings the song, his birthmark glows blue, and Ford ends up aging slightly, but over the course of raising Dipper he appears to be much older than he really is. Ford encourages Dipper not to sing around him and forces him to wear a pair of gloves. (A bit of this was inspired by Frozen, and I thought it worked well with the story.)
Dipper is never allowed to leave the cabin that he and Ford live in. (Mainly because Ford is afraid of something terrible happening because of Dipper's powers.) Whenever Ford leaves, he locks all the doors and windows from the outside in order to keep Dipper from sneaking out.
Mabel is always on the run, helping Stan out with stealing and stuff. One day, Stan is finally arrested and Mabel is forced into hiding, taking with her the royal crowns. On this same day, Ford is off on a trip to the market to sell some of his inventions. Mabel stumbles upon the cabin and finds a way in, where she meets Dipper for the first time. . .
And that's about it. I've been putting a lot of thought into this and this is definitely going to be a future project just cuz I'm already in love with it.
Note: I thought that Dipper and Mabel should have opposite powers to reflect their personalities. . . plus it leads to this really cool/interesting climax that might just count as a spoiler so I'm not gonna say it but it sounds really cool in my head
That's all
