I thought I wanted to walk
And dance
Like the ones above the shore.
But o, the love I have craved
Has been deceived of eye
To think she is his Aphrodite
And Venus.
Alas! He doesn't know that I am his hero
Of the tide,
With my fins of green
And hair of red.
I thought I could rid her of this life
And him of her deciet.
But instead
I'll crawl back into the sea.
And forever be
A lonely me.
