A Celestrial Line

Chapter 3

Not long after Yosai and Kiera started exploring the boat, more pirates came out to fight them. By this time, the whole ship had been alerted of the intruders, but the boat did not decrease speed. They only had a few miutes before it looked like the boat would come into harbor, or they would crash into it. Kiera wielded her sword with such ease, it looked as swift as air, though, it really was air. Yosai was smart enough to know that not all his celestrial beings would provide protection, so he kept a blade with him as well. Together, they fought off the pirates until it was just the man steering the boat left. Bursting through the control room with pride, the duo readied their weapons for a full on attack. But to their dismay, the captain sat still, looking over the controls and occationally taking a sip of coffee. This is not what they expected at all. Kiera grunted a bit, but he didn't respond, so Yosai grunted even louder, but still nothing. Taking a step forward, Yosai exclaimed, "Are you the ships captain?" Finally he spun in his chair and faced them.

"Why, yes I am! Is there important business I should be aware of? Why are your blades drawn? Has there been an intruder? And where are your armbands with our symbol on them!? Is the cargo holding up well? Hurry, go and check on it! I don't care why you're here! If we are risking losing all those precious jewels, I will not have my workers just stand around and cry about it! I am already paying you too damn much! So don't just stand there and gawk at me! GO AND DO WHAT I SAY!!!" The team gave eachother a worried glance, then backed out of the room cautiously. He obviously thinks they're crew members, but thye have to turn him in. Suddenly, they heard him scream, "YOU BLUNDERING FOOLS! YOU DISTRACTED ME FROM OUR COURSE! NOW WE ARE JUST GOING TO CRASH! AND IF THOSE GOD DAMN JEWELS SPILL FROM THEIR CRATES, YOU MUST KNOW DAMN WELL WE'LL BE CAUGHT!" Now they had to do it, they had to turn him in. But this sweet old town doesn't need to hate wizards anymore than they already do, so it's up to Yosai and Kiera to clear wizards bad name.

With blades still drawn, and eyes aiming at their target, they both took a big swing. And.....KLUNK! Kiera flipped her sword at the last moment, hitting the captain with the handle, knocking him out, and stopping Yosais blade with the side of hers. "It would be wiser not to kill him, so the police may interrogate him later." Yosai grinned behind dissapointed eyes, nodding in agreement, but still wishing he could have done it. 

Once they stopped the boat, told the guards, and watched as they towed away the pirates to jail, while returning the jewels to a nearby town where they had been stolen. Kiera turned towards Yosai, looking into his dark eyes, she whispered, "Is this what adventuring is like?" He chuckled as he nodded, then looked over at her and remarked, "And I hope it never ends."
