*Addi's POV*

I sat patiently on my rickety bench seat while our solemn professor rambled on.

The lesson was enthralling to my curious mind, although my peers were suffering from absolute boredom making it harder for me to concentrate. They seemed to be more focused on passing notes and texting behind textbooks than any of the lecture up front.

Though everybody was on the verge of falling asleep, I managed to keep a pretty damn good job of not getting distracted. At least that was until I spotted my boyfriend. He stretched his arms out to the side and let out a cute little yawn. My eyes drifted off into a lustful stare. It was hard not to look at him. His straight brunette hair matched up with his sky blue eyes creating a majestic effect that could make any girl hysterical. He only had the brain of the average studen, but his appearance made up for it. I was so lucky to be with him.

In the midst of my doze, I felt an abrupt bump on my elbow. It was my best friend as she attempted to bring my attention back onto schooling. But it didn't really matter all that much to me. There were only a few minutes left of class, and then we'd be able to get on with our tiresome day. Tomorrow would be the beginning of winter break, and all I had planned out on my busy list was to read some John Green books. What better place to spend the entire break than in the bed reading a tear jerker in the dim light?

My pupils remained fixed on the lovely Felix. He looked up at the teach and then back at his paper as he scribbled down some notes. All of the sudden, he shot up and began walking away toward the exit.

"Addi!," a voice screeched into my ear. I twitched back and turned to Lily who stood up and faced my direction in irritation. "Class is dismissed. Have a pleasant winter break everybody," she mimicked the professor's obvious words. I urgently hopped up with my notebook and bag.

"I-I'm sorry. Just a little..." My eyes captured Felix coming my way from the front of the room. "Distracted."

The corners of my mouth lifted in relief that I could finally speak to him. But his face showed no sign of joy.

"Hey babe!," I threw my arms around his torso only to have him pry my body off and hold me out in front of him by my shoulders. His blue eyes didn't sparkle like usual. They were stern and dulled out.

"I need to talk to you, outside please." I scrunched my brow and nodded hesitantly. He grabbed my wrist and headed out toward the exit as I glanced back at Lily with a daunting frown.

He brought me out into the grass right beside the bottom of the stone staircase and faced me. We spent a short moment in uneasy silence before I spoke up.

"What is it?," I finally questioned with an apprehensive motive. He sighed at the ground.

"It's- I'm- We're-" His words jumbled together.

"I know," I muttered in dismay.

"Really?," he peered up from the dirt.

"Yeah. You don't want me anymore. Is that right? It's not working out."

"Well," he rubbed the back of his beautiful neck. "I don't know if- it's not- I kind of thought-" He haulted himself from anymore nonsense and stated his response over again; this time, more clear. "Yeah. I'm sorry."

I moped silently with a discouraged face. I knew it was too good to last. It was important for me to grieve, but at the time I needed to act cool. Play it off. Pretend I'm the brave girl that I aimed to be. I wiped the sad off from my face and faked a soft chuckle.

"It's cool. I'm fine with just being friends." His eyes read confusion at my reaction, as he should've been.

"You sure? I mean, truthfully I was just feeling a lot of pressure as your boyfriend; and I didn't want you to take this the wrong way. You're an awesome person, I swear. I just.." I grinned in false honesty.
