Some wake up every day, with all intentions to kill.
Whether your weapon is a handgun, or simply just a pen,
The people do the damage,
Not the item made of a simply lifeless substance.
Why blame the gun?
It can sit in the case of a successful hunter, sharpshooter or in the holster of a cop.
What we seem to only see is the terror that they bring.
Hate crimes, alarming statistics and a fear in the unknowing's eyes.
Today in the United States, citizens are shot by both criminals and police officers.
Today in the United States, a man just won a sharpshooting contest that he's aspired to compete in.
Either a gold medal or a morgue, there's many sides people see in the weapons we carry.
We don't all have bad intentions.
I don't wake up with the intention to kill.
Some don't realize however, in the hands of the disturbed,
It was still the human who pulled the trigger.
If we were all armed, would less people die for unlawful reasons?
We may never know, because the power of a weapon scares people away.
The aim, the fire, the kickback.
Kickback, relax, armed and secure,
As it is isn't the gun that kills people,
Yet the people pulling the trigger.
